I never said that. I merely pointed out that you know as much about Scottish politics as I know about Northern Ireland politics. I do know a little bit about Scottish politics though
What did I get wrong about the Scottish system? I merely gave an opinion that the UK Govt in London can over ride the Scottish Justice Dept. Of course they can.
Well, I don't think so. There is no way that a decision of such magnitude was left to the glorified council at Holyrood.
Hey, I'm not ER. Also, the high courts in England hold no juristiction(sp) over Scottish courts as we adhere to an older law system (this is under threat just now and a bit of a toy peeve of a certain Mr McBride). The UK government did not want Megrahi released but couldn't comment (as a Labour administration full of Scots could not question the devolution they introduced ideologically) Here's the Wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Release_of_Abdelbaset_al-Megrahi Darling's tongue was constitutionally tied but the Tories were almost as beeling as the Americans. The original conviction was arrived at under SEVERE pressure from the US - indeed, they were unhappy that only Megrahi was convicted and not his co-accused also.
Listen, you can quote Wiki all you want mate but if you think this decision was made soley by the Scottish Justice Secretary then I think you are naive.
That's treason, and as a citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, you are sailing very close to the wind
I wasn't quoting wiki I stuck the link up cos it had a couple of mentions of the stuff I brought up in it. If there's a conspiracy to be found here, it is in the original conviction
