To be fair my first half comments would hardly have been flattering. Whatever happened subsequently, we were poor.
Mane deserves huge credit for the way he played after the penalty miss. I was expecting his head to drop but it seemed to do the complete opposite.
Just got back. BUZZING!!! This is what makes football THE best sport. When it goes for you, WOW!! At 2-2 I knocked over my mate on my left, at 3-2 I was so worried knocking him over again I turned to my right and the guy next to me punched me in the face in the excitement!!!! What a comeback. No voice left and my arms hurt from punching the air. Thank you saints Oh and I've been a bit quiet recently as I became a Grandad
Just watched the second half. Will someone explain why, even if you know the score, you get anxious as the clock ticks down.
Even though I know we won it is only true if I see it on MOTD. Weird! That's if we win. Don't watch it if we lose. Didn't happen.
I think the biggest influence on our comeback was the change of formation from 442 to 433. Had we started that way from the start, I doubt we'd be trailing two goals to nil at half time.
I checked the score after about 40 minutes to see us 0-2 down. I then got a text from my Dad at the game saying what a game 3-2 saints. I could barely believe it. Fantastic. Don't know whether I was more excited to read the action as it happened on the Saints board or the Liverpool one.
Well, that was a delightful day. Met the usual suspects plus Ritchie and Mrs Ritchie in the pub. Nice balanced chat. Lovely people. Then off to the game. Thought we were playing pretty decently in the first half and that the score flattered Liverpool. So at half time I had a little bet at 75/1 on us to win 3-2. Which was nice. Bit hard to type at the mo as I tried hard to spend my winnings in the pub. Valiant effort but foiled by wives' demands for husbands at home. Vin
