EVEN with the £185 tickets in the north lower, the north lower can only hold so many. maybe 3000 at most? then say another 2000 elsewhere in the ground renewing? 5000 renewals max! i think only 4000 will renew. there are too many out there saying no. and the person usually saying no is in charge of 3 or 4 ST's (like me).
Another cynical idea by the comms, having Super Clive and Robbo on the ad for S/T's, with the caption "My Only Desire". Pass the sick bucket.
They probably thought it would have more effect than having Chris and Sue Parkes on it especially as neither (of the Parkes) has paid for a Charlton ticket in their lives
But they could still use Sue Parkes in the advertising... A picture of her standing in the boardroom, holding a delicious vol au vent, and saying... "It is dirt cheap watching Charlton- I am living proof"
Just as bad as when Murray used Zola, Bergkamp, Beckham and someone else as the basis for getting a season ticket at The Valley.
Last night's performance, by the team and the manager is another nail in the coffin of the campaign to persuade fans to renew. There can't be a single fan who expects to see Championship football at The Valley next season.
May I respectfully ask why? Look at the damage they have done to our Club. It is on its arse. How can you advance them money for a product that is already guaranteed to be crap? I just don't get it, sorry
Just had a look at the OS. You have the ad for S/T's with Robbo, Mendonca, Jordan Cousins, with the picture made to look as though all these proper Charlton players are huddled together in joyful celebration, then your eyes shift to the left....it's Simon Makienok!!!.. Maybe we need a head of comms.
435 is reportedly the amount of ST renewals taken up so far. this is from facebook so dont hold it as fact. i'm surprised there's that many.
I will be. I don't yet feel the need to justify that but if I did I would point out that: a) My enjoyment hasn't yet wained, due to the fact that going to Charlton has always had a far wider appeal to me than just to watch the football (which probably makes up about 40% of my motive for physical attendance - please don't misinterpret that as a fair weather type approach though!) b) Duchatelet isn't going anywhere anytime soon and I'm not prepared to stop going in the vague and vain hope that he'll soon be gone - I respect those who are doing so but its not a stance for me
i was about to on that tuesday night and then he wrote that statement. had even managed to convince the two i go with to renew, but they were in agreement - not getting a penny of our money
I won't be renewing. If I did I'd feel a big "Jackass" sign, like in Tom and Jerry. It's not part of a boycott, I just can't bring myself to take money out of the family budget to give to this dishonest, dishonourable, delusional, contemptuous, failing regime. I started supporting Charlton because of the wonderful atmosphere at The Valley, but that has been killed by the dead hand of Roland. I don't believe in an organised boycott, it's an individual decision, and it's up to every adult how to spend their money.
Billy has pretty much summed it up for me. Being a supporter doesn't mean you throw money at the club no matter what - there has to be an element of enjoyment, which currently there isn't. The value for money is currently non existent. What RD does with our money is a whole separate discussion.
