Southampton's build up play has been good, however we have not created anything clear cut, whereas Liverpool made a few good opportunities. Saints' best chance is to hit them on the break at stretch their centre backs, like Long did early on but since Liverpool scored it is not looking so likely. Still wonder if starting Tadic was a good idea and we need Pelle to retain the ball better.
Has Pelle done anything? All I can remember is an attempt to control the ball which was a perfect ball for a Liverpool counter attack
Really love that the only time I've heard our fans has been through the chant "Dejan Lovren, we ****ing hate you". Great support, fantastic.
Koeman selected the wrong formation today. Too many holes trough the middle, no one can even get near the player he's supposed to mark. Have we even made a single foul?
Agree with all of this. We haven't been *that* bad in general play but then we've not created anything you could consider as a good chance. Mané makes much more sense to me for this game with his pace.
Awful first half. Terrible ref, we look slow and ponderous in the final third, dead ball kicks are not threatening and our ball retention is poor. If I have missed anything, please advise...
Well that could have gone better... Pellè has been awful, as has Tadic. Can't blame Forster for either goal, the first was just a brilliant shot, and the second was really down to Bertrand not showing Sturridge to the outside. But that penalty shout would have changed everything.
Decision went against us. Then we were totally outclassed. Then linesman makes great decision. The first half in a nutshell.
