Despite another Merc 1-2, I think there might be promise for the season. Williams were a bloody disaster though. What the hell happened there?
So.... McHonda. Have they improved? Was more or less 30 laps from red flag to end? Button finished 97s behind Rosberg
The simple answer is no. A team with the resources and experience of McLaren shouldn't be beaten by a rookie team.
They've definitely improved. No reliability issues this time. Pace wise, it would've been a huge ask to match last year's Merc and given Merc have improved by 2-3 seconds then McLaren have definitely made big strides, problem is they're giving away a massive head start and are chasing a target that moving quite quickly.
Look who's behind Jenson in the final standings... if you consider that an improvement then standards really have dropped at Macca.
Williams were pretty disappointing as well, struggling now that the PU isn't quite as stand out as it was, with others having far better chassis/aero now.
Williams and Mclaren essentially pouring money down the drain these last few years, no real returns on their investment in F1. More so with the latter team
Williams had a pretty good last couple of seasons and really should be pushing on now. Sadly they're not.
