Twice as disappointed in the booing home fans at the half than the manager or any player ....some should stay at their own home for the sake of the team imo
Game was on to late for me so managed to hold off seeing the result until watching match of the day... The game looked dire but at least its another 3 points en route to survival.
Criticising the fans for booing is a little rich from someone who doesn't go. It was pure ****e. Although I never boo I understand the frustrations. I swear Rangel passed the ball to an opposing player 50% of the time. Utter garbage. If you pay to go to games you expect and deserve better. I fail to see why you are still putting so much faith in the Manager. You are failing to look at what's right in front of you. Curtis in charge - all very good performances. Guidolin comes back - ****e. It's not rocket science. The bloke is too timid and insipid as a manager. He is WRONG WRONG WRONG for this Club. Forget ****ing "time" , "dabbling" and "tinkering". He has shown me NOTHING, ZERO, ZILCH that convinces me he's good enough for the Premiership or Swansea City. All very well Britton saying it was our cup final. They didn't play like it. We'll scrape over the line IF we are lucky and we should say thanks and ta ta. I don't believe in any god but I pray that this man is gone in the Summer. My hope is that we get De Boer. THEN we can get our team back. Yours sincerely A VERY unhappy fan!
Just read through the posts, definitely glad I missed the game now As for keeping Guido on after seasons end, put yourself in the boards position. The guy is consistently picking up points and has taken us from the brink of the relegation places to being pretty much safe with 7 games to go, albeit playing abysmal football. So do you risk boring stability for a roll of the dice that the next person can do the same while entertaining us? It's easy for us to say yes but the risks they will be weighing up will balance on hundreds of millions. Not an easy decision to make I'm sure. Me personally I think we have enough about our squad to be finishing top 10 (with one or two additions in the summer), so I would like to see us go for someone a little bit more adventurous. But if the board do decide to keep Guido on, I can understand how they would have come to that conclusion. I think the only person they will happily replace him with outright would be Brendan. Simply because they know it is a safe appointment and that the standard of football would be several notches higher.
I disagree. It's an easy decision. The only reason they'll keep Guidolin on is if he's the cheap option. From what I've seen and heard from him I am convinced he's not the man. Very very lucky today against a piss poor side that's won one game away all season. We all know it, as do the Board.
Satisfactory result diire performance in the first half. Only one shot on target in 90 minutes against the bottom team. Teams under no pressure such as Villa because everyone knows they're relegated tend to play better whilst teams under pressure such as Swansea can be even worse than normal. Nothing new in that.
Agreed. But that doesn't mean we should be happy with they way we played. Utter tripe today and we need to shape up to scrape over the line. Tough fixtures coming up.
Waited till I had calmed down before posting. That was the biggest pile of sh1tw that I have seen since we have moved to the Liberty, I seem to be saying this game on game. We commented where I sit that it was liking a poor L1 match. If I had my way I would get rid of guidolin now. The negativity on the pitch is running like a cancer through the side. I watched in horror when we actually had the ascendency and both Guidolin and the other Italian, were screaming at Barrow to stop going forward and start passing backwards, it was a total embarrassing performance. I get we got the three points, but we must have looked and been a bit of a laughing stock on Sky. Again what were they doing with the subs, I think everyone in the ground could see Kingsley was knackered and they take our only attacking threat off and bring on a third full back. Only to have to take him off 5 minutes later and bring on Routledge. Yesterday we were outplayed on times by a team with ****ING 16 points. they had more attempts on goal and more efforts on target and probably should have had at least a point if not the win. Those backing Guidolin go every week to the Liberty and try watching the negative garbage we have to suffer, I like Kiff never boo, but can certainly understand why people do and what we are seeing is so frustrating. For the sake of our club at the end of the season we need to rid the club of this negativity and bring back some positive play and the only way to do that is get rid of the guy in charge and bring in a certain Mr Rodgers. Just one more thin, Gomis yesterday was probably my man of the match for us. he led the line well stayed on side worked hard and held the ball up very well, just take the odd flick out. Also yet again it took a guy in his 30's to get us going so well done Leon. Still not convinced we are safe and just hope we can get a lucky win from somewhere as I still think we need it.
Whilst I can understand the view that Guildolin should be given the opportunity to lead the team next season, it should be remembered that 3 of the victories since his appointment came with Curt in charge - Watford, Arsenal & Norwich. Yes - we won yesterday, but the performance was awful - no shape, no style, no pace; where has our passing ability gone? Against any other team in the PL, we would surely have lost. Play like that in the remaining 7 games and we will not pick up another point. Sunderland kept Advocaat because he kept them up - look at the season they have had. Leicester dispensed with Pearson despite keeping them up "miraculously" - look at the season they are having.
Like Trunds, I'd get rid of him now and put Curtis in charge for the rest of the season. You could see that Guidolin was afraid of losing yesterday and that feeling seeped right through the side with his poxy negative tactics. Had Alan been in charge, we'd have won that by a couple of goals. Instead with the Italian in charge, we looked far worse than your average pub team.
I can't understand why he didn't start yesterday. I thought the whole reason he didn't play v Bournemouth was to make sure he was fully rested for the Villa game yesterday. What the first half showed us yesterday is that Ki and Fer are not a patch on Leon as they do not have the same desire or work rate as him. Cork also suffered badly because Leon wasn't on the pitch first half and i rate him very highly. That's why it is essential we sign Joe in the summer.
Something has gone very wrong down there for to long now, when we have a 3point clean sheet win and still feel furious at how we got it ! where as before it was 3pts at any cost or way and we`re happy, now we can see how bad and low we have dropped off since the debacle of mr L & mr M`s change overs ages ago ! We will be lucky to survive when survival has been our main aim for the last 6 years. There must be some people down there in charge that can see the obvious to us and most other fans week in week out constant cock ups, bad selections, subs timings and when to attack when to defend ffs ! bunch of amatures out of their depth maybe ?
We would have made a league 2 team look good yesterday ffs ! but it is fixable if we stay up and get the right people in.
As has been pointed out - Curt's done most of the good work though. I think we've been lucky Guids was ill. Also, how many of those wins were very fortunate? Arsenal should have buried us, Norwich should have got at least a point, we hung on for dear life against Everton and they missed an absolute sitter at the end, Villa should have beaten us... that's 12 points right there! Even the most blinkered tight-wad board member must realise that much luck is the exception, not the norm. If we carry on with Guids we will be fighting relegation from the start, next season. How many of our better players will want to stick around for next season knowing exactly what he's like? The summer's going to be a defining period for the club, continue on this same path and we'll be the next Villa, fighting relegation every season until the inevitable happens. I recorded MOTD last night but it started late and cut off about a minute into the Villa game! I'm not sure if it was trying to spare me or just choked and gave up
