Well **** me, Guido has just said had we played today like we did v Bournemouth we'd have lost. We are going to play like this for the rest of the season
Since Curtis and Guido have taken over , under extreme pressure , we have 22 points in 16 games . Since Guido has taken over we've averaged 1.55 points a game , .over a season that would be closing in on 60 points . Keep in mind they were both thrown into the deep end , later in the season with players thrown into disarray with ideas from different managers in charge . All players , Curtis and Guido need time to work things out . We could have left Monk in charge and we would be preparing for the Championship now instead of pulling away from relegation . The thought of starting next season with another manager , our fourth amongst 25 games if it happens , will be to much change for the players that stay to endure .
Awful performance. Villa worked us out with a high pressing game from the off and we couldn't adjust for it. Rangel was abysmal first half and very lucky to stay on. Did improve second half. Hope we're safe but you just can't say with this season. Thinking back to just before Xmas when I thought we were a cert to go down, I'd have taken this all day.
Fugging shocking performance , Villa although no great shakes created 4 good chances to score in he first half , whereas ourselves were dire ,what an advertisement for park football because thats what it was like watching at times today.
Massive overhaul needed. From top to bottom. Edit........there is only so much as a paying customer one can take. If that today was served up to me in a restaurant I would demand my money back. And get it!
A very unsatisfying victory. Leon was talking to Collymore on the radio as I drove home. Perhaps he put the perspective on it: the game was a cup final for Swansea, a game we had to win. Now that we are virtually safe, the team can relax and play without fear and anxiety. God, I hope so..
Just back home - and eaten before I decided to "put pen to paper" so to speak. The performance was terrible - Villa were easily the better side in the first half. You'd swear that we were the team in 20th position not Villa. Why was that? Well, Guidolin's selection and set up left much to be desired. At least he had the balls to change it at half time with the introduction of Leon. The goal seemed a little fortuitous - but hey, in our position we need all the luck and the points we can get. So here we are with 36 points at the end of March - we would certainly have taken that points tally as we entered the month. Surely, with 7 games left, we should be able to edge ourselves to safety now? As for Guidolin, at the season's end, assuming we do stay up, then "job done" and thank you. Should it be "goodbye" & "arrivederci"? On balance, I would think so.
Guido said on Sky Sports that we will play this way until the end of the season as every game is a cup final. He also said we'd have lost if we played tonight as we did last week.
If we continue to play like we have this season, I'll just lose interest. I know I will. I can't face another season of feeling angry every time we play because I know we can do better. It was mentioned earlier that the soul has been sucked out of the club - I totally agree. We all accepted ****e football when we were in league 2, but as a PL team we should have higher expectations of our team - eg. we should be able to string passes together easily. It looks almost like passing to a player in your own team is an incredible skill the way we lose the ball at times. Of course I'm happy that we look like we are staying in the PL, but I don't feel like it's something to celebrate. I get zero enjoyment of watching us play recently. I don't really care if we are playing some of Europe's sub-elite teams every other week, I just want to be entertained and enjoy it. That hasn't happened since August 2015.
Surely Huw and the Board can see what we are seeing and already have plans in place? As I posted before the transfer window closed, there continue to be rumours that Coleman will take over after the Euros. Not sure if this rumour has legs - but he was at the Liberty today......
To much being put into so little time . I'll accept whoever is in charge next season but will hope it's Guido and Curtis at his side ... I feel the best is yet to come as both have little time to put their stamp on the team ... I'm sure I'm alone but believe it wholeheartedly .
Can't see it happening. He's just signed a new contract with the FAW. It will be Brenda in charge next season.
The team Guido would start next season no one would recognize if given the opportunity imo He's got 7 more games to dabble this season and do a bit of figuring and rebuild his own team come summer . I can't believe your serious about whether I'm being serious , but ......what the hell , I could be wrong , just like most could be calling for his head already . Remember , patience is a virgin
