quality gentlemen, a 4 pager on Defoe potentially being a good buy for NUFC and then completely written off in 4 lines in this one because of Sky Sports 'sources' .. bet Defoe has not even been spoken to by NUFC or anyone at Sky

 

Whether he has been spoken too or not.....I don't want him, too old, too much money and not that good. Very much a confidence player and when the chips are down he is exactly what we don't need in the sqaud/team!!

I'd still have like to have had him here, no point in pretending he's not good enough for us. He'd walk into our team hands down and is proven in the Prem. Age means nothing (he's only 29 ffs) if he's still got pace but people seem blindsided by Ashleys strict under 25's policy. I agree with the young players coming in for resale value etc but we need class upfront and we need it now, Defoe would have fit the bill perfectly, even if only for another 2-3 years.

If he doesn't want to come it's a different matter, **** him! But don't say he's too old and not good enough when we're still relying on Shola and Lovenkrands
