You mean you don't pay any attention to the notifications you get from the envelope and flag in the top-right corner? If you get a notification that someone has PM'd you, you will see a number next to the envelope. If someone has quoted or 'liked' a post of yours there will be a number or numbers next to the flag.
I thought the envelope was for when you told me off I knew what that was for really, but had no idea about the flag or the unearthing thing.
Thank goodness I bothered to look. MotoGP season starts this Sunday with the Qatar Grand Prix. The only night time race in the calendar. And I've just remembered I'm doing a bike ride/pub crawl on Sunday with the Ramblers. Ah well. Better a doer than a watcher.
Gary has been looking a tad iffy for some time. I've been putting it down to his age. He's showing it.
Hopefully, he is just losing weight. People always make the mistake of thinking that dramatic weight loss will make you look younger....it can make you look older. A little weight makes you look healthier and younger....that's why I look about 11.
Just watched The Bedford Incident for almost certainly the umpteenth time. Starring Richard Widmark and Sidney Poitier, it's set in the 1960's Cold War period, just a few years after the Cuba Missile Crisis, it's about a US destroyer commander hunting a Soviet submarine to the point where a tactical nuclear exchange takes place. Neither survive, of course, and the incident ends, but it's still a fascinating play about people being drawn into the game of hunting and forgetting the possible repercussions until it is too late. Yep, it's dated, but it's still very watchable. For those few of you who won't have sat on the sofa on a Sunday afternoon and seen this great little film, it's recommended.
Sounds like a cracker, my type of film and Sydney Poitier is a great actor. I look that one up, even though you've given a little spoiler.
Did that actually happen? Oh Wayne, step away from the keyboard mate...let someone else do that stuff for you.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Victoria Pendleton's incredible achievement yesterday. After a career in track cycling, during which she won 9 world titles and 2 Olympic Gold Medals, she decided last year to become a jockey in National Hunt racing. A year ago she had never sat on a horse in her life. Yesterday she came 5th in the Foxhunters' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. That's the equivalent of finishing in an F1 Grand Prix when a year ago you had never driven a car.
^^^Pendlebum was on a stearing job mate. All she had to do was not fall off, which I'll grant you she did. An experienced race rider might of had that horse in oroper contention.
