EU laws say that I am allowed to vote on Brexit, all those in favour !!!!! I have not lived there for 46 years
The FTSE merging with the Boerse no way, it is a takeover , When are the Brits going to stand up and be counted
The agro is coming from a lot of people that have lived in Spain for over 15 years so there must be something in it
Looks like you have to have been on the electoral register in UK in last 15years and then you can register to vote by post from overseas. I certainly am registered to vote and will be voting to stay in.
Until the out brigade can tell me how it will effect me and my family as all i hear is they dont know for sure and will babble on with political speak avoiding the straight forward questions that tell you nothing then i will be voting to stay in. When you see the quality of the prominent MP's wanting out then it looks a joke....Boris the wannabe prime minister (god forbid)....IDS the same person that says a family with two children should not get more than £50 a week to live on while in the same week saying that he deserved his £11,000 pay increase..... Will the people of that calibre really care about the thousands of jobs assisted by the EU will be jeopardy? Of course they wont. Be very careful what you wish for and ask how coming out will benefit you and your family and future generations as many top people have asked but got no answers other than waffle and words like hopefully and my best guess. you cant make a serious decision as this on a whim and hope...
In: pluses to big business who can move people, money and products through Europe more easily. Leaving is more likely to harm GDP in the immediate future Out: Relies solely on pandering to immigration prejudices and this big white elephant of negotiating favourable trade deals with EU members. Ain't happening bub.
IMHO If the UK does pull out it will mark the beginning of the end for the EU , there are just too many countries that are not able to contribute
The biggest chance of the UK leaving the EU is not that the out mongers make a compelling argument, it's that those voters who think 'I'm not convinced by the out argument' don't go out vote at all. I can see a lot of people wanting/settling for the status quo in their minds and just not being moved to go out and vote. EVERYONE who is in favour of the brexit will vote. I don't think it is going to happen in the end and I think that is probably best for the country.
Keeping an open mind but so far the Out campaign has not come up with anything that sounds a lot more sensible than the Scots came up with. Regain Soveriegnity. Sounds heart warming but not sure what it means in practical terms. Immigration: leaving aside how you feel about it, I doubt that the people BRS is complaining about are EU citizens. Excessive business regulation from Brussels: Don't have personal knowledge on this one but most businesses want to stay in. European Court of Human Rights: Has nothing to do with membership in the EU. We can survive on our own: No doubt, but will we be richer or poorer as a result ? No one seems to be able to point to any clear advantage that leaving will bring. The appeal seems to be to the same sense of grumpy patriotic xenophobia that was the basis of the Scottish referendum.
If the Turks become part of the EU (the new Visa application that Merkel wants is undoubtedly a precursor to this) it will become even more dangerous for Europe. Have no illusions about Erdogan. He wants northern Syria and parts of Iraq as claim for Ottoman Mesopotamia. He is obsessed with it. Same with parts of the Balkans. These people are Europe's enemy and invite them into the EU is like opening the field gates and allowing the wolves to roam among the sheep.
A lot of the Brexit arguments are pretty mediocre. It mostly focuses around immigration, and pretty much ends there. They will not get any indication from any EU nation that they can negotiate a trade agreement, all big business seems unanimous that they want to stay, and overall the general feeling from the Brexit camp is: "Oh jolly good, if I get some television time, I could be the Prime Minister in a few years! Move over Osborne." - I'll let you guess who I'm talking about.
Could be PM in a few months is the plan for Boris. If we do vote to leave, Cameron will resign and Osborne will have less credibility having backed the 'In' camp.
Certainly I think Boris has positioned himself nicely. It's a no lose situation for him, either we vote in and he gets on with it, or we vote out and Cameron is under pressure and the supposed "idiot" has got a credible run at pm. What nobody has realised, is that if you vote "out", then I'm afraid you delegate more power to the conservatives... Any billionaires amongst us? Because I doubt the rest of us would be happy.
Ian Duncan Smith resigns from the cabinet over cuts to disability benefits. Or, to put it another way, Ian Duncan Smith resigns from the cabinet to position himself as a key member Boris Johnson's cabinet because he is also an 'Out' voter.
