Was wondering his reasoning and I've actually, just read further news stories and answeed my own question. The man's an egotistical fantasist. Can a mod delete this thread...
Just change the subject. Change it to something like would Anders Breivik's views on immigration be out of place on General Chat?
Boris Johnson reckons that his anti Islam stance comes form the fact that his ex gilrfirend dumped him for a Pakistani. Most blokes would go out and get drunk and, if they really wanted to make a point, maybe urinate on the doorstep of their local Lahore curry house. I think his reaction was a tad excessive.
He blames the labour party and its supporters for betraying "real Norwegians" by allowing muslim immigration i think.
It was because it was a Labour Party convention thing and he blames them for letting the Muslims in in the first place. Agreed though, strange he didn't kill Muslims.
Apparently we will all understand his motives in the next 60 years. Presumably , by this he means that muslims will have atken over the world by then?
They've already taken over certain parts of England. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course, but it is happening.
Parts of Greater Manchester, Lancashire and West Yorkshire for a start, and that's from personal experience. I have no problem with Muslims, I work with a lot of them and some are a great laugh. Possibly the most entertaining guy I work with is Muslim, and some of their birds are amazing (plus they have the "unattainable" appeal)
It is annoying when you have congregations of people based on their ethnicity, religion and/or colour. It caused tension and distrust. Amsterdam has a huge problem with it and it looks like parts of the UK are going the same way.
I don't know what it's like in Edinburgh as I was only in the centre last time I was there. But there are parts of the north of England that are akin to ghettos. Extremely run-down areas where you can walk around for half an hour without seeing a single white person. I work in Old Trafford and it's a bit like that here, as are extensive parts of Manchester, Bury, Bolton, Rochdale, Salford. Further east, Bradford and Huddersfield have very deprived areas, and the Asians and Black people always seem to get lumped there. And then you get some areas, like the Borough of Wigan where my area just about falls under, and there are virtually no immigrants. **** knows why the councils don't spread ethinic minorites out a bit, then maybe we'd have more integration. As you say though, they have it worse in parts of Europe. The North African dominated ghettos just outside Paris are apparently a no-go area for outsiders.
I work somewhere where i have to deal with Nuclear power and i have no problen with getting through security (which is very high due to nuclear element) my colleague who is of an asian ethnicity has all sorts of trouble. The problem is, is that there is a view of 'them and us' and until that changes i can't see people integrating like they should and trying to iron out all of these racial problems. Went to Amsterdam 3 weeks ago and i have to agree with you ST (strange i no)
Because when you apply for council housing or even privately-owned housing paid by the council you can apply for properties near to your family and you get priority over others. Hence, you start with one family, then two, then five, then 10 and before you know it whole areas are populated by people emigrating from the country or region.
By the way, your signature quote, did Hoadie Boi say that by any chance? I particularly like the "good appetite for hot chicks" bit.
You get certain areas that have virtually no immigrants, and never have had. My dad works for the council, and apparently some councils, like Wigan for example, fought hard years back to reject immigration, whereas others, like Bolton (and the 2 boroughs share a border) welcomed it.
