I sit in a different seat every game of Aussie Rules I attend. I sit with the same people every game. If we want to sit in the same seats, one of us gets there early and saves us seats.
Considering I live in Sydney, none. I attended a number of home games two seasons back, and while I sat in the same seat every home game, and that was very nice, I wasn't heartbroken when the nice people around me weren't at certain games, and changing my view of the pitch occasionally wouldn't have ruined my experience. Not sure why you're even needing to emphasise you mean City's games, as if a different sport has a different need to be in a permanent seat.
So basically you've been a couple of times in the last god knows how many years. Not really at the sharp end of it all then are you really. But still have plenty to say from your armchair.
I think the big bits are out there, the core of the scheme and how they have figured the shape of the moves and the shift in pricing; no business would ever be drawn into releasing such crucially sensitive business strategy (a self-proclaimed first!) by the Tweet of one errant local reporter. Does anyone think this local reporter would risk his relationship with the club so thoughtlessly? Are the short term gains so important in his relationship with the club? We will judge that easily enough by his ongoing treatment and distancing by the club. I think your second take on matters is the correct one; nothing cynical about it. The club have released the current version, it is not a daydream leaked out of turn, it is Plan A and we know the club must be pushed reluctantly into any Plan B. Anybody who hints, suggests or actually believes that, just because the creativity came from minions, the sign-off, direction and intent is not the owners belief and responsibility is either plain stupid or edging their bets for some reason. Perhaps James Mooney, despite his paternity leave, is learning to play a clever and manipulating game with those within his circle of influence, perhaps he always has, just as I have always thought.
So that's okay then? They just commissioned it, paid for it, sanctioned it and then released its detail on their website; of course, what fools we are, anyone, even a Strawberry can tell Mr Assem Allam how to run his business. Are you really that naive?
You realise I live on the other side of the world?? I've paid large amounts to watch City over a couple of seasons live, and put in a lot of effort and time watching and organising things from this side of the world. I appreciate people are upset about moving seats, but it's really not the end of the world people are making it out to be.
That's like saying a government policy isn't theirs because it was some 'think tanks' idea - if they didn't want it they wouldn't have commissioned & sanctioned it - 'nobody tells him how to run his business you know'
Don't be so bloody daft, of course it is. It is the newly adopted policy of the club they own and manage, it is the policy they propose to use for ticketing their customers at their club. Strawberry may have devised it, they may still be tweaking it, but it will not be used by them as a ticketing policy, it will be sold or licensed to someone else (Hull City AFC and, possibly, others) to be used as their ticketing / membership policy.
I really have no idea what you're on about since the bold is my point. The Allams did not devise this policy. People are bending over backwards to have a crack at the Allams over this.
I never thought I'd see the day I'd be accused of being an Allam apologist on here. I've attempted to answer questions raised, I attended a meeting so I was in a position to do so, though sadly it didn't leave me with enough information to answer all of them. I remain in favour of a switch to a membership based system, but the kids/family pricing is not working as it stands, something I raised as an issue in my correspondence with James Mooney after the meeting and something I've reiterated needs to change in correspondence since the announcement. That correspondence also stressed how unpopular any seat moves would be and stressed the need to engage with fans and make sure they see a major benefit in accepting these changes. Sadly, this hasn't happened, the message has been poorly presented and as things stand too many people are worse off under the new system. I sincerely hope this changes.
Excuse me- are you an Aboriginal Australian or one of the colonisers who have usurped them in their homeland?
