By two! Told you it would be a "skin of its teeth job". Now all it has to do is WIN. Good luck PS; Most competitive handicap of the week in my book!
Harry Skelton very bullish on at the races just now. Never had a ride as good as him with as good a chance! Best ever chance of him having a festival winner
I do have to agree with Beefy on his xenophobic handicapping of Irish hurdlers: Superb Story: won a class 3 handicap hurdle at Wetherby off 120 before finishing a close 2nd in the Greatwood, one of the most competitive handicap hurdles in Britain, off 129 and raised 10lbs to 139 for this. Great Field: won a 3 runner race then a 4 runner race in France (the highest rated horse he beat was rated 122, beaten 5 lengths in receipt of 2lbs). 1 race for Mullins, won beating Draco 4.5 lenghts giving 1lb. Draco is 2 from 21 career starts and rated 137, I assume because he is trained by AOB. Great Field rated 147 for this. I still think Great Field is a graded class horse and wins this, but watch out for Montbazon
Bloody difficult finding winner in this race now i've had time to look at it properly. I'm on Superb Story Ante Post at 14s thanks to this thread but there's at least 5 others that i fancy!
Tomorrow could be ala 2011 all over for me again or a complete and utter flop. If Superb Story wins i'll win £5,500, and if Cue Card then wins the gold cup i'll win an additional £3,800 odd or £1,400 if Cossack wins. And IF Cue Card wins, I'd have won just under 10 grand, and if AupCharlie then won in the 4 10 i'd win an additional 12 grand odd. They say good or bad things come in threes, lets hope for 3 bits of good things and magic in a row!!!!!! Honestly, I think Superb will win regardless of the info, on form he's the best horse, Desoto was the only one i was worried about and that isn't there anymore. I know Cue Card is 10 so apparently hasn't got a chance in hell of winning but i honestly believe he will, he's the best horse in the race and is even better at Cheltenham than Kempton and this year has come into his prime, similar to Thistlecrack in terms of he's having he's best season and can cap it to perfection. AupCharlie will probably be the one to let it down, would be spooky if SS + CC did do the miracle and both win and it was all on that though as AupCharlie is pretty much where it all started in 2011 and what a way to end it & hopefully win it, i'd be over the moon if Superb won let en knone Cue Card but i mean the buzz of that on AupCharlie would just be insane and so spooky! Anyway, goosebumps can't sleep! Haha roll on tomorrow lads, hopefully the final nail in the bookies coffins this week, about time after the last few years they've had an easy ride of it
