At least we played some good football against Barca, although the finishing wasn't up to scratch.

I also had a feeling it would be quite a competitive game. When the pressure is off the team it performs. This is however a worrying sign should they hope to win the title or CL. It's about performing at the right time and at the right level. They've dropped their performance at crucial moments of the season. I genuinely think they need a good sports psychologist, as Wenger is falling short of motivating them to the right level.

Wenger is allowing both a team that were facing relegation last season and your arch rivals get the better of him.

.. when does the penny drop?

    Played pretty well tonight.

Realistically like i said earlier. Who can beat this Barca side? Personally see Bayern as their only real Rivals.

For many years Wenger claimed that his teams were mentally strong. It was a sound bite that used to grate on me as his teams have always been as mentally weak as any top team could be, almost always crumbling under pressure even when going through a successful period, just like the man himself. Sadly he's become a parody of himself. Be careful about replacing him though!

I do not 'support' Arsenal ( mine is a humble L1 team ) - but I would like to give my praise for Wenger - in his appreciation of the Barcelona team - he recognises their brand of football is 'art' and brings pleasure to many - even if it is pain for him !

Not many managers acknowledge that the 'other' team simply have better players.

Having a season ticket that costs you £1500 and using it once simply means you have £1500 going spare.

This is a hard fact that surely no true goon can ignore. With United,City and Chelsea nowhere near
this season surely Arsenal should have it in the bag.Spurs and Leicester are both good sides but
are not of the standard of our usual champions.City and Chelsea are both changing managers as
i expect will United.Maybe it is just time for a change at Arsenal.

Nope. I'm just happy and rejoicing in the fact that it could be worse and we could be in league 2. And even if we were I'd still be happy as it could be worse as we could be in the Isthmian League. And even if we were I'd still be happy because it could be worse as we could be playing amateur football on Hackney marshes.

Funny how you see more passion and commitment from part-timers on the Marshes than in the Premiership. Leicester City has shown that you can get paid well and still give it all you got. I really do wonder about our players and others in the Premiership, namely Chelsea. They are like over pampered, over paid babies. The way our performances have yoyo'ed during the season would suggest that they lack focus and full commitment. But hey, when you get paid more in one week than some people get paid in 2-3 years, why would you need to give it your all.

Interesting fact, yesterday's game made it 1 win in 8 games in all competitions. During that run we have had 5 losses, 2 draws, and 1 win. The capitulation of this team is well and truly something to be hold. And people keep asking be careful for what you wish for with Wenger leaving, like the situation is not bad enough with that run of form.

Why are Wengerites so opposed to replacing him, it couldn't be that hard getting a decent manager who will manage a 4th place finish season in season out and little else. You'd save a kings ransom as well.

I guess there are just no managers out there who couldn't achieve 4th place in the prem and not a lot else <doh>

Wengerites: We're open to replacing Wenger.

Normal person: Ok, here is candidate A, B, and C, all good enough with proven record.

Wengerite: No, no, no, while I am not opposed to replacing Wenger, it must be someone better.

Anddddd rinse and repeat. Wengerites be full of ****, they say they don't oppose change but they have this criteria that nobody is better to come in and replace Wenger, so they are liars just playing word games. At least 3 world class coaches have sailed us by in 1 season alone, Klopp, Anchelotti, and Guardiola.

They have learned to lie just like Arsenal and the board, the **** comes from up all the way to the bottom, they're like Gazidis' and Wenger's propagandists.

    1. Straw man.
A straw man is a common form of argument and is an informal fallacy based on giving the impression of refuting an opponent's argument, while actually refuting an argument that was not advanced by that opponent.

He's right about you. You're crying about a non argument that nobody is positing. Not one person on here has said that they would have turned down Guardiola, Klopp or Ancellotti.

I call bullshit, you don't say it exactly, as I said, you play WORD GAMES, you say yeah you're not opposed to change BUT, but but but, shove the but up your arse!

Your criteria that you made up that nobody can replace Wenger because there is nobody out there.
