I expect some consternation was anticipated. It will mostly burn out over time as some fans accept the change and others move on, but some ill feeling will remain from this much as it does from the name change attempts and the e1/2 move. I do wonder if this is all a case study in PR mismanagement.
Bearing mind some haven't moved on from something that's irked them from every single owner we've had since 1904, I don't think its worth getting concerned about that. One absolute is, whatever is done, by whoever, for whatever reasons, it will be complained about. More so now people have the facility of letting others know how entitled they are via the internet. Even when they don't have all the facts yet.

We all liked the idea of the membership scheme, but at the time the zones and prices weren't fixed and nobody just nodded, everybody raised concerns about kids pricing and pointed out that people who were being asked to move would be ****ing livid.

No, we liked the concept of a membership scheme, where support of a club was ongoing and not stopping and starting every year. If they'd said we've got a new scheme where kids pay 790% higher prices, I suspect it wouldn't have been so well received.
