    Yep.

However, we have more to lose from this match than they do. Every one is taking our winning the tie for granted. IF they do manage to win there will be celebrations all over Salford, LVG will be safe and given another contract (good thing?) and the media will be going all crazy declaring it as the best triumph that they've had for decades.

Surely it can't happen, can it?

i am in the position of being at an event ,i cannot get out of , tonight and unlikely to be able to get even an update till at least 9.30 however cannot decide if that is better or worse than grabbing the occasional update

  3. Obviously, battering them 6-0 would be great too <laugh>

The media will have a field day if Man Utd turn this around. After the first leg ended I said we might rue the missed chances, we should be 3-0 or 4-0 up at this stage. Still don't know what Coutinho was doing for the tap in.

  4. Can't you record and avoid the score?

I have the fetch the mrs (nm) from work at 8pm so I'm always about fifteen minutes behind on Thursday night games. I catch up at HT

    Well yes, it can.
This is football and almost anything can happen. 2-0 is obviously not an unassailable lead to take to an away leg- especially against such bitter rivals.
Anyone thinking the tie is over is daft. We have to go at them as though it's 0-0, play the way we know we can, and get the victory.
If we play a holding game I'll be seriously pissed off.

We just need an away goal.

As far as I'm concerned if we don't give sloppy possession away and dint let them have female crosses and set piece and make them work for their goals we will be OK.

Utd need us to sit back and be diffident. It's up to us to be men and go play.

    I'd love 2 up after 15 mind.

i'm in the attack them camp for 2 reasons
an away goal will surely send us thru as even our defence would struggle to concede 4 to ManU in 90 mins
if we sit back they will score at least 2 so ET and all the advantages with them

  11. We do but we shouldn't go all out looking for that goal either.

We should be approaching the game as if it is 0-0. As if it is a regular league game. Go to win but don't be crazy, make sure we don't lose.

No we don't but your point is well made. Do to dominate the ball and threaten them cos that's the best way to play.

Just don't cough up a handy goal for them.

Not sure. The white surrender wall didn't help them much.

This is a real test for us.

We need to show bottle and not only to dig in but to stick to the plan.

You can see it in some of our lot that they act small time when it comes to playing some big sides like Utd.

Henderson is important tonight for example.... not a night for wild shots and chasing about kicking lads.

    Same for milner.

Same for can. .. must pass it.

All 3 will play in midfield and are crucial to us getting on ball and applying pressure not being under pressure as we give away silly frees and sloppy passes.

We have to assume Utd will come out with fire. It'd be nice if they didn't but we must assume they will really have a big go. We've got to contain that and turn it to nerves on their part by pushing them back.

A headless tackle can put us right on the back foot so we need to be careful. In Europe anything off the feet is a yellow. We've got to make our fouls little pushes and nudges to unsettle them

I can see United sacking LVG and hiring Brendan tomorrow morning.

I will not relax until we score. Then I will think we have a good chance. If they score in the first half they will really be up for it. I will be drinking Bass and Guinness, alternatively not together, as I was when watching the first leg
