Nothing new... please log in to view this image HULL City vice chairman Ehab Allam says he'd be 'very surprised' if the club was sold in the immediate future, but has stressed the Allam family are still 'actively' looking for a buyer. Suggestions two interested parties were close to agreeing a takeover of the club emerged earlier this year, but while approaches have been made, a firm and convincing offer is yet to be put to the club. And speaking exclusively to the Mail, Mr Allam said the club's promotion prospects were crucial to any deal. Almost two years have passed since chairman Assem Allam put the club up for sale in the wake of losing a first bid to the Football Association to change the club's name. Speaking on September 11, 2014 Dr Allam announced to the press he had actually put the club up for sale within 24 hours of losing his name-change application five months earlier on April 9, 2014. Almost two full football seasons have passed since and there has been no further development in the matter. Ehab Allam says the family's position is unchanged on the matter with regard the sale of the club, but the desire to find a suitable buyer with the club's best interests at heart means the Tigers will not be sold to just anyone. Asked if the ownership were still actively looking for a buyer, Mr Allam told the Mail: "We are active. Everybody knows our position and that has not changed. "We've always said we want the club to go to a good home and that hasn't changed. We still want what is best for the club. "There are interested parties, but most interested parties are interested in the Premier League and there are no locally interested parties." Mr Allam said he would be "very surprised" if a buyer came forward in the next few months with City's position as a Premier League club or a Championship side next season, still firmly in the balance. The riches befalling a Premier League club make City a far more attractive prospect for potential buyers. However, no genuine offers were tabled in the wake of the club's greatest-ever campaign as a top-flight side when it reached the FA Cup final. Speaking after announcing the club's new membership scheme which has scrapped season passes in favour of a loyalty-based membership without concessions, Mr Allam says the owners are continuing to do what they feel is in the best long-term interests of the club. "We have always wanted to do what is best for the football club and that will continue with or without us," added Mr Allam. "The ambition here is to leave a legacy irrespective if we are here next year or not. "It's about leaving a legacy for the club to run itself on its own two feet, and this is part of that. "We feel this is the right thing to do for the long term future of the club." http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Excl...tory-28937017-detail/story.html#ixzz439OxnNXp
What does he mean by doing what's right for the club? Doesn't he know the fans are part of the club? Everything these people do is a broadside at the fans! Part of me hopes we get promoted so they find a buyer and the f'ck off! And part of me thinks stay in the championship so these people don't get richer on the back of it! I'll always remember AA's interview saying " it's my gift to the city of hull" #fullofshit
Dictators don't suffer with that ailment ElTigre! They believe they are right and everybody else is wrong.
Ehab claims that the family remain 'active' as they have done for around two years now in wanting to sell the club. However he also claims that the club would be a more attractive proposition if it were in the Premier League as opposed to the Championship. He states also that whilst interested parties exist, non are locally based and who may therefore be attracted to a Championship club as opposed to a Premier League club. I have to say from a potential buyers perspective that's utter tosh!! The only circumstances that the club would be more attractive in the Premier League is if a major corporation was interested in acquiring City, and as such had deep pockets to firstly acquire and thereafter invest in the club. It's also likely any such corporation would have a significant brand in their stable which they felt would benefit from Premier League marketing and exposure. Now if I was that same corporation I would be looking to acquire NOW whilst the club IS in the Championship as the price to acquire would reflect Championship revenues and exposure, as such would be significantly lower! The only reason why this acquisition doesn't stack up is that the Allams, being the business people they are, are seeking a Premier League purchase price for a Championship club, or a future additional premium should the club ultimately get promoted built into any deal which would ultimately negate the need for anybody to purchase in the immediate future! Equally if the Allams have the fans at heart (the word legacy seems to be increasingly used by Ehab), I am surprised and disappointed that no mention of a supporters trust forming part of any new ownership has not been mooted, albeit I accept it's something a prospective new owner may not be willing to consider! Another example of the Allams miscommunication? Just putting it out there to gauge the general recation
After the name change was refused, he stated the club would be run in the interests of the shareholders. All this legacy **** is just talk. They want their money back and that's their main priority.
Why is Allam claiming that under 16s are longer able to enter the ground alone, independent of the membership scheme? Is that a legal requirement? Or a stipulation made by the SMC (or club), that has never been publicised? Or is it made up in an attempt to cover his tracks? Genuine question, I don't know the answer. Edit: I'm referring to a statement in the Q&A piece on the HDM website.
I assume it's actually a SAG requirement, as it varies from club to club, most I can see have a 14 limit, but at Man United it's 12.
Is that in the SAG minutes? Or any other SAG documentation? That's a rhetorical question btw, I can look it up myself
Lets face it, the idea that they want to sell is complete bollocks. They just want to appear like they want to sell
I have asked before, but would posters please put a warning on the thread if there are going to be pictures of toad face or gobshite, as they make me ill. Thanks.
Why do they always come out with this sort of **** just before some of our biggest matches? The focus should be on Friday's game but yet again they have made it about them. Megalomaniacs.
Might I suggest that to maximise revenue, some kind of pop up shop or refreshments outlet could be installed in the Directors car park where those 5 or 6 empty car spaces are coned off?
What a surprise! It's almost as if they never wanted to sell the club... but that can't be right. They really are arsecunts, aren't they?
