It's like you're playing football like "painting by numbers". That's not how it works. Your strikers have been in the right place at the right time and done the right runs and played the right passes and taken their shots when the opportunity has presented itself. The fact Barca have defended well or the goalie has done some blinding saves, is NOTHING a world class striker could have changed tonight.

 

We are going absolutely no where with Wenger, seen this type of performance a million times. It's become so boring, Barca haven't even been trying hard.

We have not won a single first leg game in the last 6 years of the last 16. Wenger is good at one thing, consistency.

Stats are silly. You've gone out to a team that's probably the best in the world and the scoreline flattered them. You could have scored 3 or 4 yourselves too. Fine margins

 

We played Milan, and Monaco, what excuses there? What excuse to have bottled it as bad as we did VS Monaco at home last year?

 

Anyway concentrating on the game. We played quite well in patches and created quite a few chances, the lack of clinical finishing cost us again. I thought we were denied a clear pen in the first half. It was a case of what could have been .. again. Nobody saw us getting past this tie and in the end we were well beaten, but the players did okay and hopefully will take that same attitude into the game on Saturday.

No excuses v Monaco, but losing to Milan, Barca, Bayern etc is nothing to be ashamed of. You make it sound as if you should have been beating these teams. No shame losing to the better sides.

 

That was last year Tonight you played well, there's nothing to fault tonight. You were simply beaten by the better side. But in terms of your own performance you played bloody well
