What's the point of connecting emotionally to the success or failure of a football club?
Why do we spend so much of our lives agonising over results and actually feeling depressed if they're bad?
Isn't it weird that we feel absolute joy when our team puts a ball in a net more than the opposing team?

What does it say about us and how insane do we seem to people who aren't addicted to our drug?

I've supported City passionately for 36 years but after last night (not for the first time) I wondered why.

It's a tribal thing, just go with the flow. Supporting City has always offered up more frustration than cause for celebration over the years! Would I change it for supporting Man Utd who are on my doorstep and which when taking into account my travel costs would be cheaper, not a chance!

I could never support another club and I could never stop supporting City, but every now and then I think I must be mad to care so much about something that is relatively trivial.

    Your days are numbered Craigo.

This outdated model of team supporting is being phased out in favour of a product-focused one.

Careful Craig, if you say "It's just a game", Sydney will call you a **** or accuse you of supporting a different team.

It gives us happiness, misery, desire and drives us mad.

    It's great!

I am a psychiatric nurse and have been for over 39 years and I cannot understand why I put myself through such emotions but I continue to do so.I am flying over soon and will watch City v Bristol City ,will I be nervous of course.Even being away since 87 I still experience the agony, joy of City.
My only concern is the impression of a sterile environment at KC and seemingly it is frowned upon in certain parts of the ground to be vocal,a mate is organising the tickets for who knows where. My daughter is going to the game she has never been to Hull before, hopefully she will get a good impression and I will shout, not swear nowadays as I think I am a responsible parent, for City if I get told to shut up I don't know what I will do!
Anyway City is part of me,my biggest regret not being present at Wembley to see us promoted or in the FA Cup final.Always an optimist ,City and you lot are my lifeline to sanity at times.

What a fantastic question.... and I ain't got a bloody answer, we just do it's like an addiction. The other big thing is it is normally a bad experience. If it was a restaurant or anything like that you would never go back would ya?? But Ohh no its football I love punishment. As I said a great question.

We've had varying attendances over the years I've supported City, but in the main pretty good ones.
Proves the saying "Misery loves company".
