I'm not sure I can bring myself to watch this.

 

The fact we had no chance in hell in this tie, and that many of us dreaded it, shows why Wenger has to go, we're basically like a small team, if we were truly going places, then irrespective of Barca, we'd go in with confidence and believing we could actually beat them, but instead, it's the complete polar opposite.

It just shows how badly Wenger's project has stifled, and how moving to the Emirates hasnt brought us any nearer to achieving European glory.

The Watford GK was completely right when he said we are a small team, because when it comes to the likes of Barca-Munich the two Madrid's, we definitely are a small team with no chance in hell of competing against them.

We are going nowhere with Wenger, other than constant top 4 finishes, that's all.

 

It doesn't though does it.

Lets be honest if It was City, Tottenham, United against this Barca side we would be expecting them to loose also.

They smashed Real Madrid have scored a record number of goals. Its a Cup competition so anything can happen but realistically I think Bayern are the only real challengers to Barca's side.

 

Why do we always have to point out to how **** other teams are? Like it somehow reprieves us? Aren't we supposed to be trying to be the best? So if United are ****, that excuses us for being rubbish too? That's such fallacious logic and thinking.

Secondly, when United were good, they did beat Barca, and went on to win the UCL, and then made a couple of finals, so when United got it right, they got it right! When have we ever gotten it right? Wenger has been here for 20 years! Two decades! And we still look average in Europe. Yes, United would currently get thumped, but that's not always been the case.

So the fact remains, we are a small club in Europe compared to the elite, and we have not improved at all in the competition since moving to the Emirates. Wenger for all his time, still does not know how to get it right.

Make no mistake, our goal tonight is to simply not get humiliated, and that says it all as to how much we have stagnated under this loser.

 

Actually I did the exact opposite. I pointed out how good Barca are. Never mentioned any of those teams as being bad.

What has that got to do with ANYTHING? I was talking about this Barca side being great. Messie, Suarez and Neymar in particular.

But like I said its a Cup competition so anything can happen but I think based on ability alone only really Bayern stand a chance against this Barca side.

 

You said if City-United-Spurs faced Barca, they would lose? So the **** what? That's not a proper response, just because others would lose, doesnt mean we have to, what a dumb response.

And what's the excuse for the other 19 years then? Why have other English teams, United, Liverpool, and Chelski, all manage to win, except us? You act like this is one unique season where there is such an unstoppable force which is why we can't do it in Europe, what about all the other previous years?

It is fact that we are not elite, and a small club compared to the likes of Barca-Munich-Madrid, just look at their success, and ours, not even close. lol, haha if you think we're an elite big club. Name me any top club that consistently gets only top 4, and touts that as a success, a top club that consistently bottles it every year when it matters. We are bottling club.

Tbh I'm not sure what we can do, we realistically need to score 3 goals minimum (takes a brave man to aim to score the bare minimum of 2 goals and expect this Barca side not to score at all in a 120 mins of footie, then for us to beat them on pens!) so sitting back and parking the bus won't do, but going on the attack* will leave all sorts of space for Barca, and there's no need to underline what Neymar, Messi and Suarez can do with lots of space.

* Assuming we can get enough possession to attack consistently.

I am making legitimate points, if the truth hurts, that's your problem. Everything I wrote is 100 percent fact. We have been constant failures in Europe, and look no closer to getting success there, am I wrong in any of those points? What else do you consider 20 years in Europe under Wenger and not 1 win? What else do you consider getting knocked out 6 years in a row in the last 16? That's success? HA!

 

People can spin it whatever way they want, but 20 years at AFC, with the resources-players Wenger has had, and to make only 1 final, and 2 semifinals, and not win the thing even once, is a failure.

Everyone always bring up 2004, and indeed, that should have really been our year, but we somehow found a way to muck it up.

 

There's soo many holes in your position if you just applied some logic it all just falls apart. So soo far you have said that we are a poor team with a terrible manager.. yet you expect us too beat Barcelona and complain when we don't.

In fact in the post directly below this you state. We are a 'small club and not elite' and 'a bottling Club'. So why complain when we loose? If we are so small you shouldn't be expecting us to win.

I want Arsenal to progress but I'm also aware that our situation could be considerably worse. We are not entitled to win.
I've said I would be happy for Arsenal to get a new manager but only if its an actual improvement.

Not necessarily, on a board like this repping simply becomes an indicator of how many people of the same mindset there are and therefore agree with each other (and therefore get more rep). Whether they have a troll mindset is a different matter.

 

I don't expect us to beat Barca because we are poor, and I am frustrated because we are so poor and have not made improvements in Europe to compete with the best, and to at least win the thing once. It's not rocket science, nor am I contradicting myself, you're just thick and can't understand perfectly easy logic.

I certainly don't expect much from this manager and some of the donkeys we have, but doesnt make it any less frustrating to see your team do ****, when you could be doing much better considering the resources we have. We should not be constant bottlers, simple as that, yet we always are, it's always the same story every year, so yes, it does become very frustrating, so Wenger can quite frankly **** off, and so can the other average donkeys who wear the Arsenal jersey. I can easily name 5 players we could get tell to **** right off.

The usual rubbish nonsense lies from you deluded ones, nobody ever said we're entitled to always win, but after 20 years, with the players + resources Wenger has had, yes, we should have won the damn thing at least once, United, Chelski, and Liverpool have all done it, so there is no reason why we shouldnt have until now. Wenger the loser, is also not entitled to stay at this club forever, and making it stagnant by getting 4th spot, so again, he can royally **** off.

 

The players, some of whom are donkeys, and the pitiful manager we have, can easily prove fans like me and the many others wrong tonight, they have a wonderful opportunity to make us look silly and make us eat our own words. It is a perfect opportunity to put things right after a run of such **** form in the last 3 months, a great opportunity to step up to the plate, and show they do have it, and we're just talking ****.

So let's see it, and when I say do it, I don't mean put in an admirable performance for the usual idiots to come afterwards saying yeah we played with pride and dignity bla bla and still failed to qualify for the 6th year running.

By getting it done, I actually mean qualifying tonight.

But we all know lol that that is not happening, these players, and this loser of a manager, can never prove the critics wrong, they just give us more and more ammo, which I am sure we will be supplied with yet again after tonight. This team of donkeys run by a pitiful manager instil no confidence in anyone, let alone themselves.

 

We are as bad as Spurs now, if we somehow got a draw tonight, or a win but no cigar, we will be over the moon, it'll be like our DVD moment. That's how pathetic this club has become, where we celebrate failure like it's a success! Oh we went out with pride! We are so mighty bla bla bla. The story of the last 6 years in this competition. You can already see that happening if we somehow magically don't get our arses handed to us.

While other elite clubs and small ones like Leciester are fighting and getting ready to celebrate titles, lol, we celebrate getting knocked out with dignity, ****ing hilarious.

If you don't want to watch this match because you fear failure, then that suggests to me you became an Arsenal fan about 10 - 15 years ago. About time for a change of club......Spurs perhaps?
In all seriousness, you are up against the best club in the world tonight, it takes a lot of work just to get in that position, so why you wouldn't want to see that (win lose or draw) baffles the hell out of me.

 

One of the reasons I don't want to watch this is because it will be very, very painful seeing us battered. Tbh I disagree with the comment about only being a fan for the last 10-15 years as Wenger has been here for 20 years and we've had it pretty good under him and before that we were a good cup team under Graham and occassionally challenged for the league - we won the cup double in 1993, almost won back to back Cup Winners Cups in 1994 and 1995, obviously won the league in 89. So it's not like we were getting battered all the time, and we were never in the CL playing the best in Europe either. Before then English teams were banned from Europe so you'd need to go a long way back to find a time where we were playing in Europe and getting battered all the time!

Saying that I'll probably still watch the game because, well this is Arsenal, but it'll hurt and frustrate the **** out of me because, well this is Arsenal!
