I'd be happy with the deal if you took Pucheon off our hands. Getting Gorkss would just be a bonus.

<laugh> Good to know, was worried, thought i read it somewhere. And it kind of made sense when D. McIntyre Tweeted we would listen to offers for him.

Never really rated Goorks, very erratic at times and loves a hoof. Do admire his work rate and desire for the club however. Puncheon did well at blackpool, could be a decent squad player but if we are looking to get away with not spending any cash then at least offer Clarke, Hulse or Big Dave!

This is one of those stories that's so random, there could be some truth in it. Hope not, agree with previous comments that Gorkks can make the step up. He's one of the players I'm pinning my hopes on!

Gorkss was one of our stalwarts last season, but I have a sneaking feeling that the PL might be a league too far for him. I thought Puncheon looked a decent player last term for Blackpool, but maybe more of an impact sub. Positives: he's quick, strong on the ball, proved he can score and he does have PL experience. On the downside he was shipped out of the Saints even when they were short handed which suggests he might be a problem in the dressing room, though I reckon Colin is a master at looking after 'difficult' characters!

You are right, he was a destructive influence at our club. The sooner he goes, the better. Good luck if you get him!

I have thought for some time that Gorkks is not in favour. Although most of us rate him as our best defender , Neil obviously has had doubts. Could it be attitude ? whatever it is I can't see him being first choice this season. Having said that I would rather swap Hall , Cook,Rowlands, Hulse than Gorkks anyday.

Gorkss has the minerals to step up to premiership he must stay and I agree that if we do a deal for Puncheon (good player regardless) then offer Hulse who never has looked like a footballer ... if Saints don't go for this keep on improving the offer in £5 amounts until say £500 then stop otherwise we would have excessed Hulse's real value

Gorkss is quality but will his pace be enough to survive in this division. After seeing him run last season, his tackles better be sharp

Wow, this really must be a new low. We are trying to push off a new player before he has even kicked a ball in a competitive game!

Agreed that this once looks like BS although Puncheon himself does seem like a typical NW target.

    You can have him!

Puncheon is one of the most disloyal players ever, who thinks he is bigger than clubs...

If you buy him, make sure Warnock plays him otherwise he will throw a hissy fit and demand a move... <ok>

What is Kasper Gorkss like? We're in need of an experienced CB. Is this guy any good?

What makes you say that '58? He played more last season than any other defender bar Hill

I guess you can see we all rate him. He's a good defender at Championship level, and might be able to make the step up to the Prem, which is why we're all a bit mystified about this.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but living where I do, it wasn't easy to see that many games last year!

Our best defender since we bought him 3 years ago. Latvian National team captain, big, strong, good on the floor (under Magilton) and all round top geezer..... This deal mystifies me from a Qpr perspective.

I agree Bakes. We're all a bit critical of our defence, and they aren't perfect, but our defensive record last season was superb. It was really that which got us up rather than a huge number of goals scored. I can't believe we'd give Gorkss away. He'd have to agree too. What's in it for him?

If Ian Evatt can cut it n the Prem, Gorkss definately can.

Hi Northolt. Puncheon is very unpopular with Saints fans because of his apparent bad attitude. At the start of last season he played a few games and got a lot of stick from the stands, this coincided with some real bad form and Pardew's sacking and Jason seemed to get the full force of everyone's anger. Unsurprisingly he was not very happy at Saints and was dropped for Chamberlain. There were a lot of rumours at this point about bust ups with the management and general bad attitude and he eventually went on loan to Millwall, then Blackpool. Later on in the season when Adkins was asked about him (I think he had returned from Millwall) he was very dismissive and basically said he had no future with us, he doesn't have a shirt number for this season and didn't go on the pre-season tour either.

Since we signed him he has never really been brilliant for us, I think he only scored 3 goals, but when he did play well he was an absolute game winner. So even though you won't get too many good words out of Saints fans he has definite quality, and he did do pretty well for Blackpool. I would probably say that he is one of the technically best players we have, so it's a shame he never fired it off with us. I don't know about the defender we're apparently swapping him for but if you do sign him you are getting a good player.

Southampton now reported to be asking £1m for Puncheon. They must have been listening to CernyBerny about our prospective Russian oligarch owner...
