You have had a good disciplinary record, but Huth should have been sent off twice meaning seven games missed. In those seven games I think he scored three crucial goals for you. Mahrez, like Payet at West Ham, has been awarded free kicks when he has clearly dived. You are now one of the favoured teams by the media so none of the pundits dares to even mention it.
Tbh, in light of the couple of results since I posted his thread, it looks ridiculous now. Arsenal and City look too far back all of a sudden.
Possibly a fair comment about Huth but still harsh to say we have bullied all season and if you can say in all honesty that none of your players have escaped a red or haven't dived then you are clearly whiter than the white shirts you wear at home games , we learnt last season the reality of prem football..... we were too naive and too honest also with a shed load of piss poor decisions given against us.... as they say they even themselves out ! Seem to remember a certain Jurgen Klinsmann's diving exploits a few years back for you lot !
Only in celebration of the goals he scored, he arrived with a reputation (took the piss out of it with his celebration in his first game) and I don't recall him actually being accused of actual diving throughout his time with us (but it was a long time ago)
Mahrez dived again just last night to win the free kick from which the goal came and the media totally failed to even mention it. Also the Morgan handball and non penalty was glossed over rather quickly. The Leicester players use every trick in the book to gain an advantage, from diving and falling over to win set piece opportunities to shirt pulling and elbowing etc, and they have certainly had the rub from referees and an easy ride from the media.
You guys really do have short memories ! Does Jan Vertongen's antics in the Europa league, a couple of years ago bring back any memories..... Some Ukranian outfit as I recall Tottenham Hotspur player Jan Vertonghen gets player sent off with ridiculous dive in Europa League Jan Vertonghen's shameful flop please log in to view this image WE SHOULD all applaud Tottenham Hotspur player Jan Vertonghen. He’s done something incredible. Specifically, Vertonghen has managed to sum up everything that’s wrong with football in one moment of pure, perfect ridiculousness. Tottenham lined up against Ukrainian football club Dnipro in the second leg of their Europa League tie on Friday. The English club had lost the first leg 1-0, and when Dnipro opened the scoring in the second, Spurs looked certain to lose. Everything changed in the 62nd minute. Vertonghen walked into Dnipro player Roman Zozulya, then fell to the ground, clutching his face theatrically. It was a stupid, completely implausible dive. The two players had barely touched each other. But referee Antony Gautier was completely fooled, and he showed Zozulya a red card. With Dnipro reduced to ten men, Tottenham went on to win the game 3-1 and progress to the next round. Vertonghen wasn’t exactly repentant after the match. “I walked into him, I think. I walked again and he gives me one. Then I go down,” the Belgian said. “He gave me a reason to go down and I think it’s his fault, not mine.” Riiiiight. You walked into the other guy, then fell to the ground as though you’d taken simultaneous bullets to both kneecaps, and you think it’s all his fault. Even Tottenham fans were disgusted by the incident. Vertonghen gets paid more than $75,000 per week at Tottenham to serve up this rubbish, and the club is reportedly about to offer him a “significant” pay rise. In other words, he has a pretty sweet life. Spare a thought for Zozulya, who had to watch from the sideline as his teammates capitulated without him on the field. You can see how the Ukrainian reacted below. When Vertonghen first went down, Zozulya laughed at the Belgian’s theatrical display. But when the ref brandished a red card, that amusement quickly turned to disbelief, then to horror. please log in to view this image Roman Zozulya (the rightmost guy in blue) laughs at Jan Vertonghen for being so silly. But wait ... here comes the ref.Source: AAP please log in to view this image What’s he doing? He’s ... He’s showing Zozulya a red card! Source: AAP please log in to view this image Zozulya takes the news rather well, all things considered. Source: AAP please log in to view this image OK, he actually has to be restrained from attacking Vertonghen by a few Tottenham players. Selective Memory ... A mild condition most prevalent among football fans Talking of Townsend didn't he apologise for diving and Kane was at it against The Hammers last season. A symptom of modern day football, unfortunately !
"Selective Memory ... A mild condition most prevalent among football fans" Can you gather enough Spurs incidents over the past 3 seasons to balance just two thirds of Mahrez current one ??
You mean The Mahrez you'd love in your side & a good side and manager you have at that by the way ! Let's be honest, without wishing to continue with this " I can piss further than you " contest, diving feigning injury is the sad consequence in football today !
No, the original question on this thread was simply "When would you start cheering for Leicester in their games". I've stated I I'd never cheer for another club which includes Arsenal. I'm only cheering for Spurs. Thought that was fairly clear.
I think we should now at least expect reams of cut/paste jobs gathered from Leicester 606s everyone, showing they are complaining as much about Mahrez antics as we did when Bale started doing that repeatedly.
It's a two horse race now - and it will be something very special for either club to win the title. Spurs are a big club and it won't be the same seismic event as Leicester winning it, but it will still be a once in a lifetime experience for all but the pensioners among the Spurs fans. When Utd were winning it regularly, it was just a relief to win in the end - because winning the title was expected - and a huge disappointment to come second. One silver lining from Utd having a few years in the wilderness is that when it's won again, it will be all the sweeter for it.
"One silver lining from Utd having a few years in the wilderness is that when it's won again, it will be all the sweeter for it." If that is to be your fate, hopefully the supporters will not have a collective outbreak of Mouseritus until the next one comes.
No no no... Don't heap the pressure on Spurs even more when there are others who can still win the PL!
Not really, given that wasn't the reason you gave in the post that I responded to. You suggested Leicester weren't worthy of your good wishes. Had you said that you wouldn't support any other team, then fine, even a thicko like me would have understood. The other point is if and when we can't win, someone has to win it. Are all other teams equal to you? We have a local rivalry with Arsenal and I would rather any other team than them won it.
