Yorkshire i don't understand why you keep bringing up old stuff or mentioning what i have said in the past. TBH i can't even remember discussing stuff with you. You need to move on bud. Spend a little less time in this virtual world.
What the bloke does is defend from the front and no one can doubt his desire. You have a player fighting the cause up front it has to help the entire team . in short he has the right mentality and we only really care about points at the moment so no not picking here
strangely over fifty years ago we had a bloke called bedford he used to get loads of abuse from the crowd for not having any dribbling skills and for getting most of his goals with headers but i really loved brian bedford his work ethic was amazing he just kept on chasing lost causes he never gave up of course the differance is that beford could score a hatrick and easily scored thirty goals a season THE MAIN PROBLEM THE GERMAN HAS GOT IS THAT HIS BEST SEASON TOTAL WOULD BE TEN GOALS AND THATS JUST NOT ENOUGH BUT IF WE USE HIM AS A STEPPING STONE THEN ITS ALL GOING TO BE OK BUT FERDINAND NEEDDS TO REALISE THAT HE HAS YET TO FIND A PROLIFIC GOALSCORER AND THAT WILL COST US DEAR LOOK HOW ANDRE GRAY HAS TRANSFORMED BURNLEY
He's typical Bundesliga: fit, great work ethic, flashes of brilliance, and then passes into touch or falls over his own feet. Germany is full of players like him.
I think Polter fits better the way we play more than Austin did usually. Austin up front alone also looked technically limited until he had a goal chance or 2. Only towards the end of his time with us when I think Ramsey had coached him in it a lot, did he begin to suit the lone striker role but then he got injured a lot, and has been at Saints. Austin was best for us playing with OBZ. Polter can play up front alone, seems to improve rapidly, and does a huge job defensively. He's done so well we haven't missed Austin.
ellers is god on this site please remember that ,hes renown through out the world by his knowledge, polter is a ten goal a a season failure, who will not spearhead our promotion for that you need players of the calibre of austin or andre gray
I like Seb Polter. He's big, strong, decent in the air and holds the ball up well. Best of all, he works tirelessly to chase the ball and close down the opposition defence. There's not many (any?) No. 9's who work as hard as he does. He is also capable of showing a surprising turn of speed. Sure he can improve his ball control and his passing but he does an excellent job for us. He's just what we need up front when we play 4-2-3-1. I'd much rather have him than Zamora, for all the above reasons, plus he'll score more goals and cost us a lot less. I hope and believe he'll keep up the work rate as well as developing the weaker side of his game. I'm not an SLF or CR fan but they deserve credit for bringing him in (and Luongo, Chery and Hall).
Smithies, yes, but Perch and Angella's good form is a more recent phenomenon and I'd like to see it sustained before I start handing out plaudits.
I think Perch was doing a decent job at RB after the first 2 or 3 months of the season, and his form further improved when moved to LB.
