The perfect counter point to Ashley Cole, who is overrated beyond belief. Denis Irwin by an absolute stretch the best left back to have played in the premier league. He's also the best right back as it goes.
I wouldn't say McGrath was underrated. He would have played at the very top for many years had it not been for the injuries, and he is often regarded as one of the great defenders of the last 30-35 years. Irwin was still first choice left-back well into his 30s. And I reckon Fergie knew a thing or two about football, eh?
Great player but he wasn't in the PL that much. Similarly Bryan Robson only played a couple of season in it at the end of his career. Still a better CM than any other bar Roy Keane.
I think we discussed this before, C, but his biography is a great read. So candid and brutally honest.
Was there long enough to win a few league titles and be top scorer in successive seasons. He's in my side anyway!! (yes, United fan)
Nope! I could pick two sides to play each other and all 22 would be comfortably United. I would give special mentions to Vieira, Bergkamp and Henry of Arsenal, Zola of Chelsea, Matt le Tissier, Shearer, Lampard, Kompany and Aguero as top players for other sides. Off the top of my head, there are bound to be more. None would be Liverpool players though, they are all ****e.

Seriously. Who the **** other than the Nigels gives a toss about Nigelshire fitba? It's as ****e as ours is.
