You contradict yourself, one post you point out 6 of Cellinos signings are playing then you say the coach brings players in... Absolute gibberish to expect any coach to transform some of the quality we have brought in.

You don't rate Wood so is it Evans at fault for not turning him into a 30 goal striker or is it Cellino for sanctioning the deal?

Most clubs have a manager calling the shots and that manager employs a team of coaches to coach the players, coaches he believes have the qualities he is looking for.

Only one thing is 100%..... Cellino appointed Redfearn, Hockaday, Rosler, Evans and Darko so yes Cellino is to blame for lack of continuity and appointing some of the worst people we have ever had in a senior role at our club.

Didn't contradict myself at all Ristac,

Cellino employed Salerno to bring in the players back then, he changed the system.

The coach's job is to train and pick the team, the coach/manager also tells the owner what players he wants to bring in, success or failure is on the shoulders of the coach/manager, not the owner.

Why do you think Wood is not a 30 goal a season striker then Ristac?

All owners sanction the deals of new players, or managers/coach's coming into club. There are no guarantees when owners appoint new managers/coach's, we see that in Prem, Championship and lower leagues, if coach's fail the owner gets rid, that's what Cellino did, no different to other clubs, it's just that Cellino has less patience than others.

We were doing sod all under Redders, Darko and Rosler, so Cellino was right to get rid, we were doing very little under Evans at the beginning, now he's changed to 4-4-2 and we've improved, hopefully it'll continue.

You dislike Cellino, so it stands to reason why you're going to blame him for everything.

We do agree on one thing though, Redders, Darko and Rosler were rubbish, but the fans wanted Redders, and most were happy with Rosler.

    I can't see where I contradicted myself.

Do you not want to answer the question I initially posed then?

My opinion is that he is not prolific enough and never will be no matter who coaches him. Not every striker can be 30 goals a season, take ten strikers from the lower half of the championship and put them with the top 10 coaches in the world, those coaches will never have the ability to transform them so it blows your theory out of the water that is is all down to the coaches.

    Allow me to show you...

Cellino signings so it wasn't the coach who picked them, you clearly state Cellino signings.

Then you say the coach brings the players in.

All these poor coaches, they were SIGNED by Cellino...

I could pick up on your complaint about lack of playing 4-4-2 and how it has been said all along that Cellino has dictated that we must not play that formation but you will just excuse it by saying it is my hatred for him.

    Keep List

    Goalies:
    Silvestri, Peacock-Farrell
Defenders: Berardi, Coyle, Cooper, Bamba, Bellusci, Taylor
Midfield: Dallas, Diagouraga, Cook, Carayol, Bridcutt (if we can), maybe Mowatt
    Strikers: Wood, Doukara

    Minimum additions:

Defence: Solid first choice CB, competition for LB
Midfield: First choice RM, First choice CM
Strikers: 20 goal a season striker without doubt

So Josh, is this your wishlist, or do you think it's what Evans will do (or both, for that matter)?

You list only varies slightly from my OP - which was about what I thought Evans would do. 2 differences. You'd keep Carayol. I'm not so sure he's done enough, personally. Don't think he's industrious enough for Evans' team next season. Think he was brought in as we needed a 'spark', which he's not really lived up to. I'm also surprised that you've left out Phillips. He's a prospect, he really is! Think Bridcutt has made it clear that he's on his way, sadly, so Evans doesn't get to choose. The one change since my OP is that Evans has been talking up Botaka. Apparently he's turned a corner on the training pitch. Might just be all talk to gee the squad up, who knows?

    This is what I'd do.

Firstly, I think Carayol has something no one else in the squad has. Because of this he would be a very good option off the bench and to play games here and there. Now I wouldn't normally want us to sign someone with that view but we are lacking quality out wide with only Dallas imo. who is any good out there.

I left out Phillips because I think he should go out on loan personally. I think he is starting to get to the age where he can drop off, problem with him imo. is that a midfielder needs to do more than just work hard and cover ground to prove they have the ability to succeed at prem level (or even championship). He's not very good on the ball imo. even with simple passes.

The summer will be defined by who we bring in anyway, not who we let go.

Wise words as usual although I would love another academy player to break through properly. If Bridcutt does go the opportunity would be there for Phillips. Also, if Dallas and Dave cost around 2 million for the pair, it does show that four or five quality additions as you have suggested is not beyond the realms of possibility. It just needs really good scouting and a bit of support from the president. To be fair, he spent a few bob last summer and we got a lot less Del Fabro, Adryan and Jonny Foreigner for our bucks

    What I think will happen:

Out - Bianchi, Sloth, Antenucci, Erwin, Cook (who will be sold for a high fee, half of which will be reinvested on a goal scorer, CB and LB)

Some players like Doukara, Botaka and Wootton will be told they're free to find another club or stay on the fringes of the first team

    Bridcutt to return to Sunderland

    What I'd like to happen:

Keep all of the current squad and add quality by spending 3 or 4 million on an out and out goal scorer and a leader type CB
