I have to say from what I watched of the game last night, that was a terrible performance. Listened to the first half hour on the radio as it was too good a night to be indoors.

Like Saturday, they were far from impressive. It's clear that there are a few issues within the squad. Edu & McCulloch were non existent last night. Naismith just couldn't seem to get it on target and we were getting caught out at the back time and time again.

Hopefully this along with the performance on Saturday will convince Craig Whyte that we need to bring in a few more players Goodwillie, Davidson, Cuellar, Erremenko!?!

I'm still convinced that we will progress but we need to get our act together and a good morale boosting victory this weekend might help us to do that.

at least eremenko has a bit of creativity about him. McCulloch never once passed the ball forwards (unless it was a long ball over the top <doh>) Davis was ok, no spark to his game tho. Edu is and always will be ****ing ****e at football. It's sad times when you actually miss lafferty

The team can't function when you have a centre midfield of Edu and McCulloch. If McCoist had taken Edu off, put Wylde on at left mid and moved Ortiz to the right with Davis in the centre then I think we could have at least got an equaliser.

The whole game there was not a single midfielder bursting a gut to help out Jelavic and Naismith. When you have someone like Jelavic who has obvious ability in holding the ball up and bringing others into the game, then you should have players expecting knock downs around the edge of the box.

I actually think McCoist had too long an 'apprenticeship' under Smith. Everything about him suggests he's trying to copy Smith from sitting in the stand to his tactics of 5-3-2 in Europe <doh> I'll support McCoist and hope he is brave enough to be his own manager and stop going down the Smith route. It's easy to fall into that habit, but it's clearly not working.

    Last point......****taker 5 year deal <doh>

It seems to me that McCoist is trying to be the same as Smith in how he sets out his team.

Judging by results of late, when Chelasea come to town with their reserves, we'll be on the mother of all hidings <wah>

How easy will it be to sing "Rule Britannia" bending over and having the Chelsea team hanging out the back of you?

Would it bring tears to your eyes?

Your team better get used to taking it up the ronson though.

Especially with Sally McMoist in charge.

Will he make it till September? That's the real question.

    How about this.

I was at a wedding in Poland over the weekend, I asked my mum to text me the Rangers score as it happened.

We arrived at the Church, pics of Pope JPII all over the place, I stepped inside the church to see how it looked, *BEEP BEEP* Text: 0-1 Hearts.

The Protestant God was punishing me <laugh>

I watched it online and Edu was completely useless all night.
Rangers must be making a fortune from American TV channels for playing him all the time because he's been hopeless for a year now.

When they brought Wylde on for a European tie last season, he changed the whole game.
Everybody started getting forward with Wylde getting up the wing and crossing balls.
As it was, Jelavic never had one decent ball played in to him last night.
The two tap ins fell to Naismith and he missed them both.
On chances we could have scored about five last night (yes I know that they scored one from a defensive mistake and could have easily scored another two from further mistakes)

I know that the SPL offers no real competition and we can win it regularly with a makeshift team but it is now one of the weakest leagues in Europe and even small teams that we meet in the CL will play a better standard of football than any team from the SPL.
We need to seriously raise our game when we play in Europe otherwise we will go out right away like the rest of the SPL teams.

Surely the manager just needs to look at how we finished last season to realise that there is only one way for us to play.
Last season when we attacked, we won the game and when we defended, we didn't win the game.

The only bright point from last night was that we played really badly and still should have won, so if we get it together next week and leave Edu at home, we still have a chance.

I really thought that things would be different this season with an ex striker in charge.

    So did I.

But I recall a situation during the Yoofa Cup run, we were playing Bremen at Ibrox, we had them on the ropes, they were struggling big time, we had a chance to counter them with a 4 v 3 in our favour situation, and McCoist was on the touchline, telling the players to get back <grr> even though another goal would've all but finished the tie.

As it were, a wonder McGregor save in the away leg got us through by the skin of our cock.

    HTF - speak for yourself

Celtic would take 6 off of Malmo, and as for ure "could have scored 5" you wrote rangers instead of Malmo <doh>

You were able to win leagues with a ****e team because Celtic have been in turmoil and attempts on our managers life. Well see what happens this year when we win in a canter and fat sally gets the sack before christmas. Thats when the real rebulding job starts for ure ****ey outfit.

If we were to go out of the competition attacking, then I would be disappointed that we were out but happy that at least we had a go.
If we go out defending, then it just leaves a gutted empty feeling in your stomach that we went out tamely without even a fight.

We might also have a problem attracting new players if we don't have euro football.
