Maybe I am stuck in the past, but I did enjoy it rather more when a trip to Wembley meant you had actually made it to the final. Seems hard on the fans from the the north to have to travel so far if they get to play in the semis. Just a bit more dumbing down in the FA Cup to suit TV and the FA who need the money to pay for Wembley.
I see you point OFH. It is probably disappointing for the SF winner to have to return to Wembley but still quite an occasion for the loser. I really enjoyed the day out at Wembley losing to CP in the play off final despite the result. I suppose it was special in the distant past as the final was the only game on tv which made it so unique.
We rode our luck at the end but it was a thoroughly professional job by all the WFC team today. Probably goal of the season for Guédioura.
