He's one of the few players we have who has an eye for goal, though when he makes good runs he isn't always found anyway.

I think his natural energy and enthusiasm can't be worse than akpom.

That's what I thought, I think Bruce is starting to piss the players off too just like last season, if Hernandez and Diame both down tools then we have had it, no wonder he was trying to flatter Hernandez the other day. I hoped we had turned the corner but it's gone back to how it was previously.

I had that 'how many games do you go to' thrown at me before, usually it's ones with not much to say and rather big heads that come out with stuff like that. Great comment about the people with disabilities and illness, also elderly, I was speaking to an elderly couple who don't go anymore this week and how much they miss it, the club ought to have more initiatives in place to help folk like that locally lot of them are lonely too.

I thought you was a pig? The only one in the area who gets every Saturday afternoon & night matches off. No wonder you get spat at, it must be your peers pissed off with all the time off you get.

This may be too simplistic, but if you give a bairn (depending on the bairn) a big bag of Lego, they will come up with some really bizarre designs, but limit the pieces and their design choices become more predictable. Steve Bruce is really **** at Lego, don't give him a big bag. Come to think of it, get one of the bairns to tell him what to do with the bloody Lego.

These sort of games are set up to play 352 with one of them stepping up to a defensive mid spot when only one attacker is alone up front. We cannot play MO and Elmo in the same team - it's easy to see.

352 today would have seen Robertson and whoever played Right Wing back the chance to bomb on. It also allows Diame the chance to play as the more forward player in the three in the middle of the park

Robertson is the best attacking left back I've even seen. He reminds me of Coleman for Everton, but I think Robertson has more potential

correct - which begs the question why our only tactic is get the ball out wide - fanny about for a bit and then pump the ball in the middle for someone to head it - there's only one person in the stadium who can't see that it isn't working and that's probably because he's thinking about the post match pies

The thing is with today, we missed some great chances & I am just going off the highlights, how we played outside of that I don't know, ultimately I don't need to know as its about how many goals we score, today not enough!
If we score one of those it's a different story, we didn't, then the IF becomes pointless!
It's still in our hands to go up, Akpom should start with Abel H on Tuesday! You can't say he's useless after his first start in a month. Maybe SB is trying something new with 2 strikers starting, I don't know.
What I do know is, we have just over 10 games to save our season. I still believe we will go up automatically. It was only last week Rotherham were beating Wednesday, then Middlesboro & today ****ing up Derby's remote chances.
I'd still rather have SB as manager & be where we are than any other team in the Championship!

I resemble (that was a joke 'Grammar Nazi's') that remark you cad. I am 'all of the above'!

What a miserable lot you all are on here. It's hard to get a result when the side are playing as a set of individuals instead of a team (maybe someone could give Ranieri a ring). Proven strikers don't want to come here. End of. The "School for Not Strikers @rseholes" will be rejoicing today as they celebrate another two of their students have established themselves at Hull City (now referred to on their hallowed walls as "The Mecca for all our Graduates"!)
It's not over until it's over but Burnley are leading the pack like a baying wolf-pack at the moment whilst Middlesbrough are faltering in their run home. Brighton continue to keep pace with us and remain a threat whilst Derby continue to do everything they can to stay down.
It HAS to come together so lets hope it's sooner rather than later.

It's a sad state of affairs when we miss Maguire in a attacking sense, but we do. At corners and free kicks he's such a threat and impossible to take the ball off. Bringing the ball out of defence he messes up the oppositions plans to sit behind the ball.

I watched highlights of Bournemouth v Swansea and the teams handling of the ball in tight areas is so much better than ours, the amount of times we piss about with it at the back is a joke. Everything is so calculated and forced. When Robertson and Elmo get the ball tell them to stick there head down and get to the byline!

    This.
And to respond with 'Diame had ONE great piece of play to put in a great cross blah blah' is simply ridiculous. Yes, it was a great little dribble and cross. Of course sometime during the game he'll doing something great; he's a damn good player.
BUT seeing him deployed as some sort of left winger was for me like the pivotal Parkinson / Delaney moment, where you surely think, what the ****ing hell is going on here.
And if he was given a free role, then why did Bruce allow him to remain on the left touchline so much. Bollocks.
Along with Huddlestone, he should be the best midfielder in this division by a country mile.
Come on, face the facts. Bruce lost the plot a long, long time ago.

That's a very optimistic point of view. The table seems to show it to be Burnley and Boro's promotion to throw away.

At this stage of the season six game form is critical and we are in 10th place, below Burnley, Boro, Derby and Brighton - what did you see recently to give you encouragement?

Burnley and Brighton both show us a clean pair of heels over ten games; still ours for losing, is it?

I have now heard Steve Bruce change his 'target' three times. It was 2 points per game, then it was ten wins, now it is 86 points; but whatever target he has set the team he is failing to achieve any of them.

This is a very simple question, which I have asked over two seasons: how does Steve Bruce and his coaching staff make a well considered assessment of their players form and aptitude when they consistently play them (or link players around them) in bizarre, unfamiliar positions?

Hopefully other's will falter and we will do enough, Bruce will be the messiah again and on we will stumble ...

Considering the managers reputation, the players value ( cost ) the overall investment in the squad it seems like the fourth season in a row we limp to the end. Sure we got the automatic promotion but the last few games were scary, drew at Bristol lost at Barnsley. Then was the FA cup year, form dropped of at the end, to quote some it was because the players were distracted / saving themselfs for the cup. Last season relagated in part due to the poor performances against our nearest rivals towards the end of the season. And now this season when we should be where Burnley are, yet putting in performances which our manager says are unacceptable and won't happen again but do.
Of course no team has the automatic right to remain in the Premier League or get promotion, but its all about expectations ( for the fans ) getting a top experienced manager and spending loads of money compared to other clubs around us, we should be doing better.

I'll say it again, there was nowt wrong playing Mo wide left. He's been used wide right or left throughout his career, he was just poor yesterday.
Clucas and Hayden were terrible first half, lightweight and scared. Stood off players and didn't make tackles.
Akpom!!! A lot have been clamouring for hm. Not again I reckon. ****e stroppy and acts like he's doing us a favor.

You are right that he has been used there previously. Not 'throughout' his career, but on occasions. And he doesn't like it. Ask him what his natural position is and he will not say out on the left touchline. It's blindingly obvious, surely.
That aside (which is somewhat hard just to put aside), you are then also right that Clucas and Hayden were "terrible first half, lightweight and scared (not so sure about the scared bit), stood off, etc. So then how do you defend Bruce playing them as our CM pairing?
And then up top, he brought in Akpom, who you slate above, and Diamonde ffs, and then more recently Powell who you yourself isn't a forward, as our strikers for this season alongside the £10 mill PL Hernandez (guffaw). Again, how can you defend Bruce?
Time to face reality. Go get a strong coffee, take time to smell it.

Apart from being lightweight upfront throughout his time with us, and not addressing that, Brucey also hasn't replaced Roko's goals from midfield though in time I accept Snodders may be the one to do that.
