I suppose it shows how desperate we are this inside forward problem should have been sorted much earlier in the season

He's a proper footballer with attacking intent and physicality not to mention intelligence, I think he can do it personally

Luer could have been a work in progress for now too instead they have given up with him. Why start him earlier in the season or even sign him at all with no kind of plan for later on.

It might be worth picking Powell as a strike partner for Hernandez, he can't do worse than what we have tried so far this season, he seems good in the air and certainly has that bit of aggression that we need in the opponents box.

You would like to think they have tried him out in the under 21's just in case he his needed but I bet knowing our lot nobody as even thought of doing it, I know his main position is at the back and he looks very good and as someone said on another thread if we brought him on up front we would look pretty desperate but I'm afraid my answer to that is that in some games lately we have looked pretty desperate.

I was hoping Powell would be upfront today until I found out he was injured

Boyd was brought in on loan at the end of February 2013, well after the window had shut to help us over the finishing line so Bruce is no stranger to making that kind of deal work.

Whether others take the piss about Harry playing up front or not is irrelevant, at the moment none of the other options are producing goals so I'd give him a go, in fact he'd have been thrown on up front for the last twenty minutes for each of the last couple of games for me.

As has been said on numerous occasions in different threads, just goes to show in hindsight what a big mistake it was in not paying the extra 2M to get Andre Gray. Our loss, Burnley's gain....we would have been home and dry now.

He's been sent out on loan, we clearly haven't given up on him.

It'll prove peanuts if we don't go up.

I heard the Lambert rumour a couple of weeks and got excited until I realised there was nothing in it. Exactly the sort of striker we've been missing for far too long. Won't happen though. We're ****ed with what we've got, and I don't mean the players, I mean Bruce.
Diame is not a striker, not a 'number 10', and certainly not a left friggin winger.
Is Clucas a left back, a left midfielder, a striker, a right sided midfielder or a central midfielder? Bruce doesn't know. No wonder the players don't seem to know what's going on.
And to have signed Huddlestone and then somehow managed to have turned him into a bit part cameo role off the bench player is simply scandalous.
As is spending all the money he's spent to end up with a team that is so poor up front.
A Lambert might just save the day, but unlikely to happen. The signing we really need is a new manager. Should have happened last January when it became obvious what was happening.

It'll prove peanuts if we do go up, so a bit of a no-brainer.

I don't why this keeps getting said. Anyone who has seen him play can tell he isn't a center forward. Certainly not the type we need.

Bruce has mentioned in the past that they have tried HM as a striker in training and it just wasn't working

Another example why Bruce just can't win. He identifies that the strikers are out of form, is open minded enough to try ideas in training but gets criticised for it while others are calling for him to try something different
