Sure.. ok. It was a stupid foul then. I do think if the first didn't occur a ref might feel inclined to keep guys on which is also very English.

Really the rules should be refs don't play games like keeping cards in pockets. Look at the so called looney we had Thursday. 6 booking. Everyone stayed on.

English refs let guys away with murder first half to avoid sendings off and then often let 4/5 felliani fouls go before booking.

If refs just ref what they see and let the players worry about who gets sent off the thing would be fairer.

Common sense is one thing but clearly ignoring the rules is another.
