No. Dont get me wrong you guys have been great but lets be honest here the overall level of the EPL this year has been poor. The Top teams in Spain and Germany are looking vastly superior.
Like we do every season against heavyweights such as Monaco, AC Milan. I'm sure Leicester will at least put up a better fight than we have in the last 5-6 years.
Chelsea out. How ****ing under-rated is Ibrahimovic? The guys goalscoring record is comparable to just about any striker in history and he doesn't seem to be slowing down at all in his 30's. At PSG sOo far he has managed 137 in 166 apps.
The cream of London has been humiliated in Europe this season. In your case, virtually everyone of Barcelona's opponents have been battered. You were lucky it was only 2-0, whereas Real Madrid (I'd say a touch superior to anything in the PL at the moment) were taken to the cleaners. And with the line-up that Spurs put out this evening, were they admitting defeat before the game began? Watch out for Villareal in the EL, quietly doing the business, in the top 4 of La Liga so a team not to be underestimated and probably better than any remaining English representatives in that tournament.
Paul Scholes: "The last thing I want for Manchester United is to be happy with finishing fourth and winning the FA Cup. That's what Arsenal do." Miaow...
It would be interesting to really find out what the Invincibles squad thinks, for example Henry. I know he is very respectful of Wenger and is wary of upsetting him, but I doubt any of them would be happy to go 11 years without a title. I don't think any self respecting player would be happy with just getting 4th. After all, it isn't a trophy, it's just to qualify for another tournament.
So game on!! Bet you could do without the distraction of the CL. You'll probably win that if Barca rest MSN. But not by enough goals to go through.
We'll probably go and win the Barca tie 1-2 now and bow out in our usual plucky, but not quite good enough style. I've got an eye on the spuds at villa tomorrow, they should ****ing batter them, but given their results recently they continue their bottling of the title.
Au Revoir, Chelsea. Knocked out of their only chances of winning anything this season in a matter of days! Their season has now officially been ended by a player they deemed to not be good enough for their 'high standards' several years ago. A player who has 25 goals this season for Everton. Couldn't happen to a nicer club.
And their best striker threw a tantrum, got sent off and the subtlest hint that he considered biting Barry
