Interesting fact: Slaven Bilic is known to be a big fan of music and relates his team's motivation to this - often encouraging them to listen to inspiring music before and after games. Van Gaal is know for being a big ****. He is a fan of big ****s so encourages his fans to watch Fellaini while listening to his drivel before and after games.

In the spirit of good music and hope overcoming tribulation, I urge all United fans to turn down the sound of booing on their TVs, and put on Sull'aria from Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro" while watching the match. Imagine seeing the hell in front of you unfolding while listening to those two fat women singing. If it worked for Andy Dufrane in Shawshank Redemption, it might just work for us <ok>

I genuinely believe if we lose this followed by the inevitable exit to that lot on Thursday he'll have go.

If he doesn't walk he'll be sacked, right?

    Right?

I was going to put Scholes at the start but felt it may be too much.

It's got to a point where he could run naked across the pitch and still not get sacked. He is untouchable bcos he's protected up on high by the prince of darkness... Edward Woodward.

I think they'll have to get shot if we're knocked out of both but if you're correct and he stays because Woodward thinks he has to protect his 'reputation' then the club is ****ed and were heading into a very long, dark fallow period.

Talking about fat lady singing - it won't be over for LvG until he end of the season. If we're not in the CL - simples, Woody can get rid under the terms of his contract otherwise the board will dream up some 'by mutual agreement' rubbish and he'll be off anyway. Sadly, he won't go until the end of the season come what may.

I think (hope) Woodward just doesn't see the point of changing manager part way through the season. It always seems like a bit of a gamble - sometimes it works like Hiddink for Chelsea in 2009, but a lot of the time it just doesn't.

The last thing we want is to make a snap decision and end up with the equivalent of Dalglish in 2011, who gives us a bit of a pick up for the rest of the season, but not enough to make any meaningful difference and ends up shackling us with another **** manager who'll hold us back for another two years.

Better to just suck it up, see what LVG can salvage from the rest of the season, and get a proper manager in come the end of the season.

Yeah, I agree up to a point.

But, if that man is going to be Mourinho anyway he might as well come in now and make a proper fist of chasing fourth.

If it's not him them yeah, might as well wait till end of season.

Tbh I think Mourinho is the back up option if no other manager can be found by summer.

He's made it clear he's desperate for the job, but I think the board are unconvinced and would rather look for a better long term option with less disruption. Possibly also waiting to hear the outcome of the Carniero tribunal to see what that reveals about his recent behaviour.

Mourinho also doesn't seem like the type of manager to give a short term boost just by his appointment - he needs time to build the team and tactics according to his approach. The short term push for fourth requires a manager like Dalglish, who'll be all gung ho and heart on his sleeve but will ultimately probably be an error in the long term.

I think the present rot is too deep and Jose won't want to tarnish his reputation by being associated with the overall failure of 2015/16 even if he were able to come in towards the end and give the side a boost. More likely he is sitting, planning away somewhere, looking at the strengths and weaknesses of the squad and lining up replacements so that he can have a full pre-season and go into 2016/17 with the squad in his image, playing his way.

I also think the club were wary of him having to stand before the cameras and make a public apology to Carniero as our manager, regardless of the fact that it was a Chelsea matter.

Yep compared with, heaven forbid the current United manager having to make a public apology for the debacle he's overseen this season. You have to applaud Woodward for his idiocy.

BTW it's hilarious that before EVERY game of EVERY cup competition, Van Gaal talks of how we're still in the hunt for THAT trophy... just before getting us knocked out <laugh>

    Here's his latest offering...

"We are still in three competitions. So we can fight for a lot.... But still we have the chance to win something and you have to believe in that."

He's said the same bollox before every crucial game in the LC, CL, EL and now the FA Cup.

How many times have I seen this type of post over the past three months? I think Woodward is really the problem at United. No vision, no assurance, no balls!

Hope it goes better than the 'wall of white' at anfield... Only white I saw was the players waving the flag to surrender.

I couldn't really care how many times you've seen it pal.
While I accept Woodward is culpable in part, van Gaal is one massive problem.

Because he's a ****e manager. If you can't see that it's your problem.
