I know what you mean but I don't feel sorry for him. He was advised poorly and truth be told was probably greedy. I can imagine that Kit told him to stay and develop even more. He didn't get the game time he wanted last year but he would have done as the season went on.
One reason why he'll probably got to Celtic .... According to 'journalist' Wayne Veysey, (who some have dubbed "Rigg's Mouthpiece") there is a clause in Pat's transfer agreement between City and Fulham stipulating they would have to hand over £5million if he moves on loan to a club in the same division as us. That's certainly a novel one I've not come across before. Veysey goes on to say that only £4.5m was paid up front by City although potentially this could rise to £11m. And that £5m clause is one way that the money could get bumped up. Source: http://www.footballinsider247.com/contract-clause-that-would-hand-fulham-5million-transfer-bonus/?
The fact there wasn't a loan back option, nor are we mentioned now, probably shows how Pat felt his development was getting along with us. Difficult to judge if playing Roberts, Hyndman and Dembele last season would have kept us up and potentially left us in a better place contract wise
And on an 18 month loan. City obviously feel he needs building up in every sense of the meaning. Actual believe that is an extremely pragmatic move for club and player. Not quite a done deal yet but he's off to Glasgow for a medical over the weekend and should be a formality now. Young Pat gets his first goal for Celtic - looks more in the style of Duffers than Messi - albeit for their Development Team.
Interesting to read that Derbys ambitious chairman has sacket his manager. They are only 5 points from the top, a report in one of todays paper said it was the last straw not winning at Craven Cottage. Says a lot about what championship managers think of us.
One for you statistians amongst us,of our last 6 managers how many points were won in their first 7 games in charge. Slavi has 4 from a possible 21
Really shouldn't bite on this but curiosity got the better of me. Kit had 13 and Felix 7 Jol had 7 and Hughes 9 (six draws - how boring is that) Hodgson had 1 (which ... kind of beats where you're going rosc) and I'll just forget Sanchez.
One for Fulhaman - not that that excludes others joining in of course. Name the year this Sevilla team won La Liga. Clues: it's a black and white photo and might even be the only time they've won it. please log in to view this image
Well now - that would be 1945/46 and a very similar photo once hung in my father-in-laws bedroom above his marital bed (honestly). In fact, the La Liga title has only come to the city of Sevilla twice. Once when Betis won it in 11 years before in 1934/35 and then to us in 1945/46. We weren't even playing at our current stadium then, either, but the Estadio de Nervion. For the record we've been runners up 4 times. The last of these was quite a while ago in 1957 which was our last year at the old stadium. We have done slightly better in the Copa Del Rey winning that 5 times (the last time in 2009/10). There was even a competition called the Copa Andalucia (so I am told, it stopped in the early 1940's I believe) that we won 18 times - and this included a consecutive winning streak from 1918 to 1933 - Betis were runners up most years. We have done okay in European cups as well winning the UEFA/Europa 4 times since 2005. As with many Spanish teams Sevilla has to nod its head toward us Brits and Sevilla was founded on Burns night in 1890 by a group of expats. I think my favourite Sevilla fact is that our first president was a Scot with the rather brilliant name of Mr. Edward Farquharson Johnston.
Incidentally, in case you are wondering about the company on the banner in the background - which you probably aren't but I will tell you anyway - Osborne are a drinks producer most closely associated with Brandy. You can still buy all the products on that banner. Magno and Veterano are brandy (Veterano is a very good brandy as well) and Coquinero is an amontillado sherry.
Never mind needing centre backs and defensive midfielders, this is what we really need. Our own team jet: please log in to view this image Sevilla returning from our match against Basel last night
The way this mob performs at times would make them walk to matches, then they may be able to break into a sweat
