Yep. We are getting mugged off for our money, paying 60m for players like Martial, who is very talented but has only managed 7 goals.

Dortmund would buy players at that level for 20m euro.

And next season when the new Sky deal comes in, it won't just be United who will be getting mugged off on prices either.

You'll see all Prem clubs getting ripped off.

Hopefully long term we will start getting some stars back in the Prem though attracted by the big wages

I think money is going to be the destroyer of this league. The players get paid too much and the hunger is just not there. You look at the players that we have in the league, they are from all over the world. They are no worse than players in Germany or even Spain when we compare them one on one. These are also all international players. Look at Hazard for example;; any team in the world would love to have him. Di Maria also failed at United.

Also, the managers are not exactly English either. So why has the style become so bad over the past six years especially? Perhaps we have to go all the way to grassroots but I'm still not convinced that is to blame. Perhaps the speed at which the game is played here is dictated largely by the home players who are used to grit over flair? I don't know!

I'm somewhat convinced money is the real problem. Success is rather brought than developed, it seems. This is why Leicester deserve a massive credit and all the big spenders need to sit back and rethink their strategy. For all that we love to hate about Arsenal, they too are far better value for money than any of the other so called big clubs.

  8. How much did Alli or Kane cost us? Who would you rather have in your side right now?

Kane! Don't care for Alli. But I don't even think Kane would do too well with our current setup. WE SUCK!!!

'bout the same as Rashford and Lingard cost us. And a lot less than Soldado and Paulinho.

Just goes to show that money is no guarantee of quality, regardless of the club. But then we've already got Chelsea to show that for us <ok>

Ultimately all that matters is what happens on the pitch, and last night showed once again that we are ****e when it really matters. The only positive is that it makes it even more certain we'll be getting a new manager in the summer.

I think problem is, so much money in prem that the lower teams are getting better and not having to sell best players to top clubs and there is more competition. The overall quality hasn't gone down, it's just evened out in the league a bit more.

Top teams are now actually having to try compete all season just to get top 4 and are therefor taking their eye off the ball in ther comps. Where as 10 years ago, top 4 was pretty much guaranteed even if you had an average season.

But ours has better hair - that, ultimately, was McClaren's downfall

No - you see, McClaren has dropped most of his, whereas our manager (just like a certain Mr Trump) somehow manages to keep all of his perched precariously on the very top of his head in all weather - an achievement all on its own.
