Basically 2 weeks if you take the international break into account.

But I think it pretty much says a lot when many fans like me look at this and say 'meh', not a huge deal, considering how average Ramsey has been over the last few months, so it's not a particularly really huge loss to the team.

Good opportunity for Elneny to step up.

True, Ramsey is not having his best season.
But losing him will mean seeing more of Flamini in the team/bench which I feel is a big step down.

The fact I don't think Flamini IS a big step down from Ramsay says much about Ramsays (lack of) quality.

If Barca do actually want Ramsey, and offer 15 million, would sell him.

I think Flamini is definitely a big step down on Ramsey even with Ramsey off form. Flamini has energy and tries hard, but he is technically not particularly capable with a football and doesn't have any kind of passing range. Whereas Ramsey can pick a pass and is far more comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Ramsay's passing is so average and at times appalling.

I'd expect more than £15mil if we were going to sell him. Would you really take the same money we paid for him when we bought him as a teenager if a club like Barca are trying to buy him? I'd hope our negotiating team are more capable than that.

Flamini can't pass further than about 5 yards and always sideways. Ramsey is the player far more likely to make something happen for us.

That's like saying you'd rather eat cow turd instead of horse turd. They're both still turd.

Sounds like a return to the Ramsey bashing days of 2-3 years ago

We bought Ramsey for around 5 million, so don't know what you're talking about when you say selling him for 15 million is the same money we paid for him, because we never bought him for 15 million.

15 million would be excellent for Ramsey, considering he only had one really excellent season, and has been average most every other time, that'd be a steal.

No sounds like fair criticism to a player who has been average and not playing good for a long time now. Not every criticism is 'bashing', ****s sake, what do you want? Constant praise and sucking ass of the players and managers?

If your employee delivered one productive year in his eight years working for you... Would you expect better from him? Or be nice to him and think he's actually a great little worker?

My mistake, we signed oxo for £15million, not sure why I thought it was Ramsey who was £15m lol, it was 8 years ago! :p

I still think £15million for Ramsey would be a poor return in the current era of finances in football. He's a regular international with lots of top level club experience (CL against clubs like Bayern and Barca, scoring in the FA Cup final etc...) and he is at an age where you'd expect the next few years to produce some of his best football (even though his form is off at the moment). I'd be annoyed if we sold him and only took £15million.

John O'Shea was a regular international and had lots of top level club experience.

Yep and he was sold for about £5m as a CB about five years ago when there was far less money in the game and he was entering his 30s. And was sold to a bottom of the table club. Good money for a CB. Thanks for the example <ok>

And given that O'Shea was a backup and didn't play the big games you'd think a first choice in the same position would of sold for even more.

You'd hope that if Barca, one of the biggest clubs in world football was after one of your players who has a decent length on his contract that we would be looking to sell for an inflated price.

They paid us £15m for Song who Wenger was happy to get rid of, I'd be looking to get above that fee for sure.

Maybe you guys just have too low expectations <whistle>

All of the points you used to try and suggest Ramsay is good can also be applied to O'Shea. Ie they're nothing to be proud of. O'Shea was averager than average. So you're point was flimsy at best. And you're thanking me for that? Bizarre.

Ramsay is only more first choice now than O'Shea was then because United had a better squad than ours.

Both are average. Both played loads for their international teams. Both played loads of top club football.

The point was about being able to sell him for decent money, the O'shea example shows if a player is an international with top club experience that even if they are average you can get a decent price for them. Given there is now much more money in football and we are talking about Barca being interested instead of Sunderland you'd think there's a higher chance of us getting good money. Your example works perfectly well with the point I was making <ok>

I know you were using it as a way of calling Ramsey average lol
