    How did tonight go?

  2. It went the way that utterly backs up what I've just said.

We came up against a side that, like us, plays as a team and that is supremely fit, and that pressed us all game, but with the added bonus that they have better players than ours.

The wonder isn't that they beat us, but that they only put 3 past us.

It will be interesting to see the damage they'd do to 'Pool, when they (hopefully) draw them in the next round.

Has to be more than just about having the best players. The style of football and approach to the game is tired and predictable among the "big" clubs. Klopp tbf at least plays with some intent and has a grasp of the importance of defending. City, Chelsea, Arsenal, United have all been poor in Europe. Any combination of poor quality, poor approach, and poor management has done for them all.

Aguero is probably the only outfield player in my opinion, and even then he is constantly injured.

    Ronaldo
    Messi
    Suarez
    Neymar
    Muller
    Lewandowski
    Iniesta
    Lahm
    Aguero
    Bale

That's how I see the 10 most talented outfield players currently. Ozil is probably top 20, whilst Sanchez wouldn't be top 50 on this seasons form. He's gone the same way as Eden hazard.

David De Gea does have a case for being the best keeper in the world, that I think is hard to deny. He seems to put in a MOTM performance every game. I know I wouldn't swap him for any other keeper.

DDG is definitely in the top 2 keepers in the world. He's incredible.

I find it odd how having him in goal is somehow considered unfair...as in "but for DDG you would have conceded more goals"...surely a good keeper saving goals is no different to a good striker scoring goals...? The latter is never considered "unfair"!

  6. Lloris and Vertonghen would make top 50, easily.

Vertonghen isn't even the best centre back at Spurs <ok>

Agreed, the only other keeper who's up there with him is Neuer, and he'll go down as an all time great. Those 2 are on another level to the rest.

I also think Kompany is the best centre back in the world too, and by quite some way.

It was nothing like saying we deserve to be in the top four, IF Fowler ever said that. Scholes or Ferdinand did not once use the word deserve or say we deserve to be anywhere.

What they pointed out was that we are a shambles. We are.
That we've had a 'philosophy' that worked for twenty odd years thanks, why try and change it? True.
That £300 million has been spent and we are where we are. Also true.

Nothing at all, whatsoever, like saying we deserve to be in the top four.

What both are alluding to is that if it's not sorted out quickly then we will indeed become the next Liverpool, and not win a league title for 25 years. Again, perfectly true.

The stony silence and gritted teeth when repeatedly asked if van Gaal was the right man for the job spoke more volume than any actual words.

    No idea.

Giggs isn't the problem though, van Gaal and Woodward are.

Chief, calm down, you don't know what you're talking about. It's all part of a process. This demand for instant success is unbecoming. Feel the Philosophy.

I feel sorry for Giggsy. He's looked so bored for the past couple of years.

I wonder where that brainwashed drone is right now? Very quiet, unsurprising given how completely ****ing wrong he is about the bloke. He'd no doubt say all this is Moyes's fault.

He is so thick. And was not allowed to develop a personality under Fergie. He made them into robots

No, he isn't. He is far from being thick. What do you base this ridiculous claim on? He's many things, thick isn't one of them.

Otherwise, robots who won **** loads of trophies. And the problem with that is?
