Fast. Sturdy. Scares defenders. Needs to score.

Expect that JFH is working on him intensively, to bring out the talent he obviously saw in him.

But think it may be next season before any tangible evidence is seen on the pitch.

Can't really see a way Polter,Chery and Washington can all play together effectively. Polter and Chery look a good partnership.

We won't be getting promoted if we have Polter/Mackie/Washington as starters next season.

Don't expect Mackie to be starting. Do you? Polter is showing he's good enough IMO. Not pretty but sounds like he was effective again on Tuesday. Washington, impossible to say right now.

    Agree.

As Beth said on another thread, we need a main goal scorer in the summer, as a main transfer target.

Seen enough of Polter now to say his work rate is exceptional as is his commitment however he lacks quality.
Mackie was finished 2 seasons and i said when we re-signed him that he was not good enough but the Mackie fan club who seem to have disappeared disagreed with me. Washington is hard to call at the moment so i will wait and see.
We need a quality striker brought in.

Washington looks a good player to me. May need to play with a partner though - Polter in a 442 or Chery in a 4411.

This mackie business has to stop , running around like a headless chicken is not the purpose of a forward .

I read somewhere a fan saying he does more clapping than actual playing <laugh>
TBH i am sick of him warming up and clapping to all the fans then coming on running around like a headless chicken.
Did okay a few seasons ago but we have moved on now.

Or have we gone backwards? I like Mackie but we need fresh blood and better players.

I was a little concerned about signing Washington, he was on a good run of form for half a season when we got him but prior to that had a pretty poor record at all but really low level football, the money we paid seemed silly and after what? 8 games he's played, still no goals! Hopefully he'll come good at some point when he finds his feet but I can't say I'm overly impressed so far!

You're not the only one. I definitely think we paid way over the odds for him. I hope to be proven wrong but my initial thoughts having seen him a couple of times live is that he is playing way above his natural level of ability.

Would we have been better off with a nakhi Wells or Nicky Maynard who both score goals at this level?
