"We're out already. Wasting energy and risking injuries in the second leg is pointless." Right. So the club should accordingly price the tickets for the WHL leg cheaply, to reflect what you have said.
I think that Pochetino was in a no-win situation here. Play the first team, probably still lose, especially with a ref who was such a homer, a player or two gets injured and misses a PL game or two, everybody would have been on his back. Plays a weakened, not weak side, and everybody is on his back. If we do get CL next season we may be able to get the extra players that we need and he wants,
So today I had an appt at 2pm in Edinburgh. When I got there I found I had been misinformed and the meeting was in Dumfries 80 miles away. Oh well, I thought, at least I will get home in time for the Spurs game. Really good day
This Dortmund side is probably one of the top 8 sides in Europe right now, how many of our players would get in their side? Not many - doesn't excuse the performance but they were very good
"I think that Pochetino was in a no-win situation here. ..." Unless there is some injury plague we are not privy to, in what world was a starting CM that included Carroll and Onomah the right answer when the question was Dortmund ??
My point is, we lack options. 6 games or 60 games, he's injured and with Kane tired, we're looking thread bare when it really counts
A goal threat, pace and more ability as an actual striker. Neither Chadli nor Son can play there effectively against decent opposition.
Which is a slightly higher percentage than Henry scored for Monaco where he was also a left winger. But it didn't mean he was useless as a striker for Arsenal. This is the first match we've lost badly this year against the best side we've played with four of our best players unavailable. Don't panic!
Son has nearly as good a scoring record as Defoe, he is about as fast, more skilful and works harder. It's insane to say Defoe would be better
Yes - I get that with five or six players out injured and others rested we are going to be thin on the ground but I don't see how that can be avoided.
chill out its only the Europa we've played a similar line up in all Europa games this season and nobody complained, we just played a better team that's all who cares, sunday is all that matters
Son's scored 2 league goals this season. Defoe's got 11. Largely irrelevant anyway, as one's a striker and the other isn't. One knows how to play the position very, very well and the other can sort of fill in there, if the opposition's not up to much.
