So you would have sold one of Bentaleb and Mason and brought in who? And having a poor striker on loan is silly - we're better off giving other squad members game time and keeping the team spirit high. No-one is taking account of how quickly one bad apple can alter the whole spirit.
How is that a foul by Lamela, but the trip on Onomah wasn't? We've been absolutely awful and I'm sure it wouldn't have changed the result, but these officials...
N'Jie is nothing close to being a striker. When he was fit, how many goals did he score? Umm... Zero!
"i disagree" That is because you don't understand English. UEFA cup KO tie = 2 legs. Dortmund have won the tie in the first leg.
Asking who I would've brought in is irrelevant. I'm not saying that Mason or Bentaleb should've been sold, either. We didn't balance our squad and it's quite obvious, too. Why would a loan striker have to have been poor or had a **** attitude? We couldn't find anyone half-decent in the whole world?
"but these officials" Again, you have to play to the refs. UEFA pansy homer refs will not allow what is standard in the PL. So ferocious Lamela pressing in PL games is not on here etc.
3-0 FT. Appalling result, which matches the appalling performance. We need to stick the kids out in the second leg now, as we're already out.
They weren't doing that, though. They were allowing blatant fouls by Dortmund and giving soft ones against us. Some really **** decisions, which is surprising given how little we saw of the ball.
I'm not saying we deserved anything out of this match, but 1-0 down and Son is brought down in the box from behind. If that's not a penalty then I'm really confused about the penalty rule, as Benteke gets touched by a feather and apparently that's a clear cut penalty "because there's contact". So tell me if there was contact on Son then?
well you dont understand how to quote but neither is the point. did you have one? p.s. i know how a UEFA cup ko tie goes, my team has played in a few of them
"We need to stick the kids out in the second leg now, as we're already out." Sorry, but that is now a non-option. Two kids in CM + Eriksen led to this result. A WHL crowd is not going to tolerate the same/worse (even if Dortmund weaken their side) .
We were always going to need luck today. The stupid challenge on Son should've been it but the ref gave nothing, then Hummels got away with a number of poor challenges that could've seen him carded. **** ref. Doesn't excuse Pochettino though. That was up there with Stoke away last season for awful selections. He owes everyone an apology for that.
Getting elite performance out of a team is very hard. There are probably only 40 strikers in the world who would improve our squad and they are all playing for someone else. Of course with hindsight we could have signed Vardy instead of Soldado but I doubt anyone would have thought that was a good idea at the time. The sort of player we could sign as a stop gap is worse than Loic Remy. How is that going to help?
"well you dont understand how to quote" You put the " character at either end of text somebody has written. So having done precisely that, I obviously do understand how. I suspect you have confused the word 'quote' with the word 'elide' .
I completely agree. It was awful to keep hearing, as they didn't stop going on about it. I think Robbie Savage ended up repeating himself about 15 times, simply because he couldn't reword the point he was getting across, without ending up with the sack!
Because we'd actually have a striker and a focal point for our attacks. Someone to hold the ball up, help us to keep possession and get out of our own half. We didn't have that today and it showed massively.
