All second year academy, so must be 18 or there abouts. Today was d- day given a pro contract or released.
Daniel Batty - Midfielder - Born Pontefract Ellis Barkworth - Midfield - Born Hull Luke Lofts - Striker - Born Cottingham Ben Hinchliffe - Striker - Born Hull All 18 as far as I can see.
Anyone seen any of them play? Do any stand a realistic shot at a Premier League/Championship level club at getting on the fringes and being given a chance?
Not really any stand outs there, Luke Lofts scores a fair few. Is Max Clark already a professional or has he not been offered a new deal? Pretty sure Ben's brother is Matt hinchcliffe who's apparently not getting a contract. Awkward.
Retained List Confirmed The Academy has announced its retained list for the 2016/17 season. Four of the current crop of second year Scholars have been offered a first professional contract for next season: Ben Hinchliffe, Ellis Barkworth, Luke Lofts and Daniel Batty will all join the Under-21 Development Squad on a full-time basis in 2016/17. However, the following players will be allowed to leave the Academy when their Scholarships expire at the end of the current campaign: Mitch Langton and Josh Baker. The Club has made new contract offers to six members of the Academy’s Under-21 Development Squad. They are: Greg Olley, Rory Watson, Will Annan, Josh Clackstone, Harvey Rodgers and Jarrod Bowen. The Club has also exercised its option to extend the contracts of Greg Luer and Johan Ter Horst for a further year. Max Clark, Adam Curry, Robbie McKenzie and Josh Tymon are already under contract to be part of the Development Squad for the 2016/17 season. The following players will see their time with the Club come to an end when their current contracts expire at the end of this season: Ben Clappison and Erik Bukran. Everyone at the Academy would like to thank those players released for their services, commitment and dedication during their time at the Club, whilst also wishing them every success for the future.
Odd that the Academy has a big 'Hull City Academy' sign outside when the name 'Hull City' is so consistently and deliberately absent from KC stadium.
Shame, he won't struggle for a club though. If these lads work hard they can get themselves another club. Ferriby will probably grab some of them.
