Peaky Blinders series 1 is on Netflix and that is superb very much up your street @Red Hadron Collider
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2442560/ A gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham, England and centered on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss Tommy Shelby, who means to move up in the world. Stars: Cillian Murphy, Sam Neill, Paul Anderson
Not a ****ing chance, It's based in ****ing Birmingham. I had 4 years at uni there. I loathe the bastard place
Seeing as it's set in 1919 I imagine it looks a bit different, it's a top show better than the others I mentioned Tom Hardy comes into it in series 2. You'd be daft to miss it.
Yes loads of good stuff, It's a bit hard work to start with getting a good list going but once that's done it's just adding new releases to it. Plenty of quality films to go with some good tv shows. Lots of hidden gems you may have missed as well. See Below.... First season was brilliant. although I've watched and enjoyed all of them, it's been on a steady decline since.
We've been watching it. It's OK, but the music sounds very close to Game of Thrones. It's based on an Anglo Saxon poem.
Have seen the film...animation with Ray Winston and Angelina Jolie? Not bad. Had to study the original old/middle English text at Uni...says a lot that it was a highlight...
Season 6 episode 23 Sanctuary. They botch up some stuff with an old lady so the old fella comes back with a gun and starts killing everyone. Well worth a watch. Along with George turning up on the slab it's probably the best episode. I'm now off to watch something manly.
