  1. Bambi, you really are Pixie's double!

What is with all the bitterness about him coming to Spurs?

... patently not ... Stones and Berahino are still at their respective clubs despite transfer requests ... from Chelsea and Spuds ...

Admittedly the players have a considerable say .. but given that Berahino is undoubtedly a mercenary, West Brom are likely to gamble on a bidding war in the summer in the knowledge that Berahino's character is likely to plump for the club that will give him the most bling and transfer fee kudos rather than for any footballing considerations ... let's face it, he hasn't been one bit bothered about jeopardising any potential Euro inclusion for England as aresult of not playing for half a season has he?...

... so who wins then? ... West Brom if things pan out as I've suggested ... getting rid of an overhyped mercenary for more than was being bid pre-season ...

  3. How is Berahino any more a mercenary than any other player who has pushed to better himself?

None at all ... frankly I'd be quite pleased because I think he is way overrated ... see post above ... he sulked his pants off playing second fiddle to Rondon at ours last week ... I just think it's a bit naiive to think West Brom are going to meekly roll over and let him walk without getting something from it ... only a bunch of complete pillocks would ever let that happen, right? ..<laugh>..

As his contract shortens, he will have a larger say in where he goes next. WBA know that if they don't sell, and he refuses to sign a new contract, his value will diminish sharply.

He's been of very little use to WBA, and IMO they should have sold in the summer. As for Stones, his form has been erratic and he probably will go too. Again, IMO, it shows the futility of trying to cling on to a player who has handed in a transfer request and wants out.

TBH, despite all the tabloid press speculation, I'm not sure if we're still interested anyway.

I think they would have sold in the summer if Del Boy had stumped up the cash rather than wanting to get the player on HP <laugh> ...

... wouldn't touch him with a barge pole ... you'd be better off looking elsewhere ... he is talented, no doubt ... but not someone to rely on when the going gets tough IMHO ... on the domestic fron I like Andre Grey at Burnley .. fast, aggresive, brave and a real team player ...

One thing we can be sure of is that M.P. wont have him unless he's sure he's going to work, and work hard. And behave himself.

I agree that he's displayed petulance and impatience. However, he's young. Kane knows him quite well from the England U21's. Maybe he's had some imput.

But, as I say, all speculation. We'll find out in the summer if the interest is still there.

  10. I'll repeat the question: how is Berahino any more mercenary than, say, Bale, Modric, Suarez, Willan, Hazard, Ashley Cole, Rooney (when he went to United), and any score of other players I could list off the top of my head?

... of that list, name any that downed tools and refused to play ... now don't take all day ...

  12. Neither did Berahino. He threatened it, yes, but he never went through with it. He even apologised to the club.

Lots of players do it nowdays, as there's very little that their current clubs can do about it.
Clubs openly tap players up, often really blatantly, offer them loads of money and a big chance of winning silverware.
Combine that with ****ty agents whispering in their ears and it's not much of a surprise that some players act like arseholes.

These snide rumours tend to be the start of it, if experience tells us anything.
The Spanish media are terrible with this ****. They're even worse than our lot, somehow.
If Mahrez does intend to piss off, then expect lots of quotes from "friends" and "sources at Barcelona" over the next couple of months.

    Lots more of this, too:

Er..no, he hasn't. He was training with the youth side and told by Pulis that he wasn't good enough for the bench even. After, or during the winter window, he was obviously told, or offered something. His attitude has only improved since then. As he hasn't signed a new contract, I can only assume that he's been promised that he can go.
