Riga rightly got stick from the crowd for leaving Big Mak on and taking The Harriotts off. Big Mak does not have a single redeeming feature to his game, even though he would have scored the winner if Sanogo hadn't deflected the ball before it got to him. It was such a timid performance considering the importance of the game. Until midway through the second half we looked as though we were playing for a draw. Poyet was so poor that Berdich was a definite improvement, and I remember telling you all what a great young player we had coming through. Lookman was only given 10 minutes, and in that time he provided our only real threat, I think 3 of them were booked for fouling him. Sanogo was a huge disappointment when he came on, not much better than Mak and got himself sent off to boot, so we'll have Mak again on Sunday. Suk Yung had a very good second half, Motta is almost as good as Solly, Pope made one great save, their goalie made no saves. er... that's it. Roland's experiment doesn't belong in the Championship, doesn't belong in football really.
Bloody dreadful barring Harriott Lookman awful awful game MK Dons are pants and so were we Lookman came on with less than 10 to go and frightened the MK defenders who hauled him to the ground . Riga clueless idiot it was a must win game and we didn't threaten hardly at all .
Mak was having a night mare, and it would have been kinder to take him off before the fans started getting on his back. You don't like to see that sort of thing, but the bloke's in the wrong profession, and is another example of our joke of a (non)scouting system. If Riga can't get the team fired up for a game like this we're in huge trouble next season.
I ended up staring at the PC screen with my head in my hands. I can't imagine what it must have been like to pay for that rubbish. We needed to win last night, and after half an hour, it was obvious the starting line up was wrong. So we wait until the second half, and just as we seemed to be building up a head of steam, the manager takes off Harroitt, the player who was making things happen. Poyet and Mak were doing nothing, so they stay on for a while, until Riga notices a lack of a winger and brings Bergditch on for Poyet, Mak comes off and Lookman shows why he should have been on an hour earlier, but by then, it's the end, and even then, the Dons had a good chance to Nick it. No doubts, or whinges abot a bad injury crisis. We ar going down because we deserve to. 3 inept managers, more changes in playing staff than we had in eight years in the prem, and enogh back room shennanigans to write a book about. I still think we have enough players to avoid the drop, if Little more, but the management has bee so truely awfull there was never a chance of that. Looking forward to Murray telling us mistakes have been made and learned from come april, shortly before we announce another interim nobody in charge. When we were promoted last time, we went up on the back of shrewd investment of the money for selling a youngster. When we sell Lookman, imagine the sort of overpriced dross or owners will bring in.
Warnock keeping Rotherham up, after we smashed them 4-1 or whatever it was, tells the board far more than CARD ever could.
The Lookman money won't be re-invested, it will be used to balance the books, which will make this season a success according to Roland's philosophy.
The dead cat failed to bounce Completely unacceptable performance, against just about the most limited side I have seen in the Championship this season. In our position, you cannot afford to only have one shot on target in 90 mins FFS. There was no urgency, no tempo and no pace to our game. How much f**king time did Pope waste on taking his hopeless goal kicks? How many times did Cousins or Poyet pass the ball sideways, or backwards? I posted about Riga elsewhere, but what we saw on the pitch last night was the glorious consequence of "Roland doing things his way" for the last two years. A rag bag of poorly coached players, demotivated and disorganised. Look at what Warnock is getting out of Rotherham in contrast. Last night's player ratings: Pope - one good save, but needs a rocket up his arse for his kicking & lack of urgency Motta - decent player. Won't be here long. Fox - send in the clowns, passing woeful. Teixera - getting worse by the week IMO Fanni - laughably past his best, a massive buck passer as well. Always pointing at others Poyet - a waste of space. **** off back to West Ham. Bone idle. Jogging round the pitch JBG - an imposter, a wages thief, a non entity. 10 games more of his impersonation of a footballer. Cousins - tried hard but wow...what a technically limited footballer Harriott - back to the same old Callum - all over the place before subbed Young - can't see the point of him, has done nothing in any appearance Makienok - one of the worst 5 players i have seen in nearly 40 years regularly watching CAFC. He couldn't even find a team mate from 2 yards last night. Pathetic dive for a penalty, no skill, no touch, no heading ability, no shooting ability, no pace - just a massive sack of sh1t. **** off!! Sanogo - pathetic behaviour. Send him back today. 7 points and 16 goals to make up in 10 remaining games. We are DOWN.
Just a quick word about Mak. Sonded like he had a mare again yesterday. Surely then, a manager with some nous might consider taking him off, or getting better supply, or,ffs, not starting him. While I had the luxury of not being at the Valley, and watching someone going through the motions, my general feeling is that digging ot the players is like a fireman pouring wáter at the top of the fire where the flames are. The water needs to go at the bottom where the stuff is burning. And sadly, we need to pour fire at the owners and now, again, management. The only thing I could offer is that while there is no point in going to matches to abuse the players, there seems little point in saving the protests for otside the ground, as relegation seems assured. Besides, some of the protests are about poor recruitment, which is anntehr way of saying 'rubbish players', so support the team isn't really what is happening anyway.
He was worse than useless Ken. We have seen at least 25 times now that he isn't good enough for this level of football. An indictment of the pr1cks who scouted him, and the pr1cks who select him. It is like playing with ten men, but with the idiot Sanogo now suspended, he will have to play in the next 3 games.
I'd rather have Kermorgant Did anyone else hear the person who sells "Voice of the Valley" shout out, "in tonight's program, the truth about why Kermorgant left?" What was that all about...
if the club are serious about staying up then they'd go and loan one of the best league one strikers with a perm deal in place for next season. But they won't.
there was a new article in the votv with kermorgant - will be a rehash of something old. i'm so angry at last night. the way we played, no passion or effort at all. the way they played was that they were happy for a draw. they were there for the taking. riga seemed to go all "network" and try his hardest to make us lose. why harriott was taken off i dont know. he was the only one who went forward with the ball up till that point. sonogo should have been on at half time for mak. poyet should have gone off for lookman at half time. poyet was sh1t. mak was sh1t. cousins was ok, but i say that because out of the two defensive midfielders we had on, he made more effort. we were passing it square on our penalty area all first half, no movement at all from midfield. it was disgusting. that's it for me. not going anymore. we've gone down with a whimper, they will not take anymore of my money.
Pope has had the same problem as Henderson- when he is ready to get rid of the ball nobody wants it. They all stand like statues next to their markers. We really are that demoralised.
I bought the Voice last night. Rick had an interview with Yann's agent. Basically, Meire told a pack of lies about the circumstances around Yann's departure. They had PP lined up, and DoucheTwat told Powell that he didn't think Yann was good enough They asked Yann to take a pay cut, knowing full well that this would force his hand. Even then, Gary Taylor said that Yann wanted to stay and they negotiated. In summary, and with quotes to back it up, the sale of Yann in 2014 was all about CUTTING COSTS. Fast forward to December 2015, and Fraeye is deep in the sh1t. Taylor said that Fraeye told Meire he wanted Yann, and an experienced centre half. Talks commenced with Yann, and he wasn't greedy. At the last min before a deal was signed in January, Meire told Taylor that the Club could not afford him! Yann then went back and said so keen was he to come, he would restructure payments due to him to help the Club with the deal! Taylor then went to Judas Murray asking if he could help the deal - guess what - Murray rebuffed him. The rest his history. Yann gives a masterclass for Reading and we are left with Makienok. The article in the Voice was well sourced, and is yet another example of just what a liar Meire is. Anyone renewing their ST is mad.
Reading that makes me super angry @Royston Vasey. Laughable thing is, Yann tore their network ****e to pieces.
Yann's agent was clear regarding the collapsed deal in January 2016: 1. Yann loves Charlton, and despite being shat on last time, agreed to come back 2. He wasn't greedy, and negotiated in good faith 3. Murray was asked to help the deal once Meire pulled the plug, and refused. Why couldn't we afford Yann when we subsequently signed rubbish like Fanni, Suk-Young etc?
Last night was a disgrace- Mak's performance was the worst individual performance I've ever witnessed. For the majority of the game we had him and JBG up front 'busting a gut', jogging around in this must win game- FFS- what a joke Absolutely disgusting No creativity, no leaders, no good, we are going down with a whimper Really like Motta, got found out a couple of times wandering up field, but puts himself about, and drives forward and takes people on- completely in contrast to the rest of the team where the backwards sideways past is the norm Last word on the moronic fans who cheered Sanogo off when he elbowed their CB with the last action of the game, 3 more games with Mak, what's not to cheer lads
