How teams are doing in the league with reference to their cost. Saints at 9th cost £137.5 million and are judged as punching just below their weight.

 

I remember only a few months ago when people were saying how much Saints were punching above their weight. And I said they weren't really, and they certainly aren't at the moment. I'm expecting much better. Especially as our assembled players have invariably been bought at very keen prices, so £137.5M represents very good value, on paper. Let's see it on the pitch.

Rather than accepting it as a penalty, I think people are just accepting that it was a mindless bit of defending. For that reason, Delaney is culpable and must bear some responsibilty, rather than claiming an imaginary curse on the club.

 

It was rumoured to be higher than that, but then there were a lot of rumours about Nicola and his acumen. The higher our %, the harder it will be for someone to buy him.

 

Not to mention the fact that Arsenal haven't exactly turned him into a world-class footballer.

 

Didn't like Nicola at his worst, but bet we all secretly enjoyed his monstrous ego (as long as we didn't work for him). Loved his story about his solo face off with a posse of Arsenal executives and lawyers. Was him against twenty last time I heard it.

Arsenal's injury list is second only to that of Newcastle (pause for tears ). ManU are right up there with injuries as well. We are listed with 4, though Long, JRod and Gardos are close to a return.

 

City won't be buying the Ox anyway.

 

If he goes to City he'll play even less than he does now.

 

Id suggest an Ox is arguably better than a Stirling, even on this seasons form...

I know Newcastle are a big club but why would Rafa Benitez consider taking them on when they might be relegated? Potentially that would be Real Madrid to the Championship.

 

Maybe he attracted to the best supporters in the world. Those lovable geordies who turn up week in, week out, who turn up at the ground in their thousands when a new signing is unveiled. Ah those loveable ant and Dec type geordies who deserve better success. Those very loyal cheeky chappy geordies who have hounded out many a manager, McLaren, carver, pardew, kinnear, roeder, big Sam............you have got to love them

Rumours flying around about Benitez and Newcastle. Hard on McClaren that he is expected to take training today and may be asked to stay for next game. Better for the axe to fall than making this drag out.
