At least the game isn't until Monday night so there would be a couple of days potentially to give the players some kind if direction should a new manager come in. Clutching at straws for positives really. Just when you think they couldn't **** things up any more.
It sounds to me like they are going to try and get someone else in but if they don't find anyone we are stuck with tufty.
Craig Hope @CraigHope_DM 1 hr1 hour ago NUFC LATEST: Steve McClaren waiting to be sacked with Rafa Benitez at the top of club's shortlist to replace him. More to follow @MailSport
I'm so pleased I no longer contribute a single penny to NUFC. I don't go to games any more, don't buy any merchandise and have cancelled Sky. The only thing I need to do now is cleanse NUFC from my psyche <harder said than done>
He's not going they are to still be saying next 48 hours right up until he's doing his Sky Interview before the Leicester match.
I would take Benitez all day, likewise Moyes. A major improvement on McClaren and most importantly they are both managers rather than coaches.
Benitez is a massive improvement on any manager we have had since Sir Bobby! Moyes is a 2 steps forward 1 step backward improvement!
Whoever, the new Manager/Coach turns out to be, they only become an improvement on previous holders of the post, if, and, its a big bloody if, when they prove to be an improvement. Having a decent past record means **** all when they walk through the doors at SJP. FFS, this Club has had a Who's Who of Football Managers who have managed to fail miserably, including the incumbent. The next could be worse again, so to call whoever it is an improvement is wishful thinking and clutching at straws at best.
Cannot see Benitez taking the job. Hes supposed to be a little difficult to get on with but one thing for sure is that tactically he is a million miles ahead of McClaten.
