only cos of the rumours of the Italy job. He already stated that this will be his last job in club management - and a mighty fine job he is making of it.

Because Arsenal fans have the majority say on all of these polls due to their massive presence of teenage kids on twitter and have some weird irrational hatred towards us.

Seen the 'they must be on drugs' comments from supposed Arsenal fans. My wifes family and extended family are all gooners and they (to a man) all want us to be champions if they cant do it.

I wonder if he'll step down if we win the title and end his career on the largest possible high?

Got to confess I voted for this as a laugh. He's got to be bottom of that list by a long stretch.

I don't know, if I was him and won the League part of me would walk away and just look an absolute genius for what he did here

But you would have to lead us into the Champions League for the first ever time

Exactly, what a challenge that would be for him next season to lead us into the Champions league group stages

The manager may go as may some of our top players & it´ll be back to square one again. We may get a manager in that will pay silly money for ave johnnies who don´t give a **** about the traditions & history of our club. Then again that may not happen. Is that´s what going to be going about between now & next season.

If he guides us to the title, nothing he could do after would tar his reputation of make him anything but a god in the fans eyes. I think leaving on a high is a cop out of someone wants to not risk their reputation following the high. I think he'd have to take us into the champs league for another season. Leaving now would be 'doing an Esteban'

Just as an aside, JTF, I'm glad now that Cambiasso did decide to leave. It has given Drinkwater the opportunity to show exactly what we knew he could do. While Cambiasso was here he never had a chance.

I remember someone writing that they had sympathy for Drinkwater as he wasn't getting a game with Cambiasso here and I replied saying that I don't have any as Drinkwater should either become better or leave and give someone else his opportunity - I'm glad he close the former.

Hes coming to the end of his career now, im not so sure he'd turn down his own nations call if he was offered it.

Its not going to be "just another country job" to him, hes always talking about playing the Italian way, so to manage the Italian side could be his dream. Hes given us our dream season, so i certainly wouldn't want us to stand in the way of his.

No doubt Drinky would have learned a thing or 2 from Cambiassos experience, so although Cambiasso was taking his place last year, its probably had a more positive effect for Drinkys whole career.

Credit to Cambiasso for finding a new challenge and opening the door, and to Drinky for re-finding his POTY form from when we were promoted from the Championship.

I have always rated Drinkwater,I didn't get why he didn't get much of a chance last season because it wasn't like Matty James or Andy King was performing that well until the end of the season

... assuming you meant last season ... I suspect it was partly because the management felt that the other two were better folis (rightly or wrongly) for Cambiasso ... and in fairness, prior to his injury, Matty James had stepped up his game ... but no comparison with where Drinky now is ... but that might also be down to having arguably the ideal partner for him in N'Golo Kante ... in rugby they talk of player'combinations' ... for me that has also applies in football ... that's why Vardy and Okazaki work well ... the opposing defenders can't just concentrate on Vardy because Okazaki's pace and movement creates space and keeps them on the back foot ...

This. Cambiasso and Drinkwater were too similar and got in each others way IMO.

Is Drinkwater this season better than Cambiasso was last? Personally, I think yes!

Indeed ... Cambiasso was class, but Drinky and Kante would have kept him on the bench with their performance levels this season ...

Without Cambiasso last season I don't think we would be where we are this. Think he was a massive influence and greatly dictated the never say die attitude we have now. You could see him telling the other players not to let their heads drop if something went against us.
