Why do we need to do a presentation? Why would we be looking for publicity? Just send them the money.
If it`s the same people who had a right go over the Johnson thing, a presentation might be a good idea. edit: then again, it might be a bad idea for exactly the same reason. edit: edit: buggered if I know what`s best.
Yeah, I think after the comments from the WWIN rep last week about SAFC, it'd look a bit odd. GA, just make sure the slag knows we raised the money for the poor kids and victims of domestic abuse and not her twisted old mush
It was raised before we knew he was guilty yeah. Whilst we don't agree with her smear campaign of the club without knowing any facts, we're not the type of people to punish those who are vulnerable for the actions of one woman with a mouth like a slop hopper.
I just prefer to give donations without any fuss so that was just my gut response. But you make a really good point there. The wrong impression could be given at this point in time.
Could it be donated from `the members of not 606` and leave it at that? They can find out it`s a forum if they want to but it`s not specific to safc.
The timing isn't perfect because of recent events, but I believe that this kind (the right kind) of publicity would say that we are not like some that have attracted bad publicity to the club and it's fans
I'm sure Gordon plans to tell them, plus when I spoke to her, I told her it was a footy forum for Sunderland fans. She knows where it's coming from.
Pity. Give it to the same cause but a different organisation then tell her she`s ****ed up by slagging the club off?
Were donations not given, specifically, for this very organisation, though We can't just decide to change now, can we If changing the destination upsets just one person, donation(s) could be deemed to have been taken wrongly Another blinking dilemma
Nah, we're bigger than that, we raised the money for the kids and women of domestic violence at this place, they shouldn't be punished for her being a gobshite. Bri's suggestion maybe worth looking at, buying things they need with the money and donating items rather than money, although that would require somebody (Gordon) to give up a bit of time to do some shopping.
I gave for the cause mate, for the kids. I had no idea who the organisation was only what they did. I don`t mind who it goes to as long as the bairns benefit. As you say it`s got a bit awkward.
****ing hell, Terry . . . . you cockney twat You've just broken our contract, so our deal must be off, then
I've just popped back on to see how the donation went down and to my surprise find this post still on the first page. I hope people don't mind me adding my tuppence worth. What was initially a nice gesture and a chance to think of others less fortunate at Christmas time has become a bit of a circus. No one donated for the sake of some woman who runs the place, it was for the victims there. Don't use this for your own benefit as a chance to get publicity or to show that "we Sunderland fans are good people unlike how the media portray us hurr durr". Just drop off a cheque for the money and wish them a merry Christmas.
No we can't. There's no dilemna. We committed ourselves to this. The fact she opened her mouth is irrelevant. Personally, I feel that we committed ourselves to this charity and we shouldn't now be dictating what they can or can't spend it on. It was the right decision for us last year. It remains the right choice. She knows its from us, not the club. If she chooses to publicise it then that's up to her. It's not for us to go looking for publicity. Just get her bank details Gordon and transfer the money. Then we can move on.
