You are a bloody nuisance to those of us who want to view the game to its conclusion . You also send a very negative message to the players. Global TV viewers will imagine our fans are pathetic . You are not true fans , you are a disgrace . Got that off my chest .
Agreed - I was scathing of the Man U fans at OT last week and equally scathing of our fans leaving on 80 minutes.
Never understood it, never will. don't want to miss a single minute. Have to stay to applaud the team off whatever the result. Can't abide the thought of away fans singing ' we can see you sneaking out..' Sneaking out shows a huge lack of pride, commitment and respect.
The only time I left was for an evening game (vs Derby methinks about a year ago) and had to get back to Brighton for work the next day. And by 'leave early' I mean a few mins before the end of the game. Don't understand people in a rush to leave on weekend games though?
Loads simply make their way closer to the exits for a quick getaway. Personally, I think people should be able to leave when they like. If you dont like it, dont do it.
I don't get it but, like you say, each to their own. That said though, I wasn't at the game on Saturday and it sounds like there were loads more leaving than usual.
Maybe sitting in the middle of a row will have less people pushing by you to get out. However if the cold and a few pints has an effect on you, you could be rather unpopular.
I did it once, many years ago. It was a mid-week Simod cup game against Peterborough. Got there a little late and the central pen was full and closed, the other pen was empty, and it was ****ing bitterly cold. we led for a bit, then they scored twice and we were dire, I said to my mate "**** this, lets go get a beer". We left, expecting more fans to show up a few mins later. No one showed up for over half an hour because we'd equalised and gone on to win 5-2.
Nope I have watched them leave the stadium ...will stand by my comments ....It's bloody annoying when these "supporters " get in the way and it's disrespectful to the team .. To these supporters I say this ....You are a nuisance .... ( I have left out an unpleasant word which I could have put before nuisance ).
I was tempted last night when viewing London has Fallen ...and the week before ..on that occasion Dad's army .
Never done it, never will. Like Gordon says, always stay and applaud whatever the result. While we're on the subject of commitment, I've been in the Family Stand for a few games now, I'm not sure I'm cut out for there. I support and rant and rave for quite a bit of the game but many seem to come and go and don't really care. On Saturday there was a guy (who I hadn't seen before) who kept looking at my like I was mad just because I was shouting at the ref, opposition players and supporting us. Having said that, think I may renew in the Family Stand because it's by far the cheapest for me and my son, think I'm more cut out for the Rookery though!
Yes. I paid extra to go to the UK premiere of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, and had to miss the end of the Champs League final for it. Words cannot describe how annoyed I was...
I can just about understand it in those games where you are down to 10 men, 4 goals down and with 10 minutes left its clear nothing is going to change things around. Even then I stay to the end mainly because my ticket is so expensive and you never know what might happen. Even if its seeing the opposition score a great goal, or a manager on the sidelines do something silly, or some gallows humour chants from the crowd. I am there to be entertained, and support my team. If I just want to know if my team won or not I wouldn't bother paying for the ticket, would just sign up the text alerts.
Never once left before the end in more than 50 years' watching football. Not sure if it's because I think I might miss something or because we were brought up without much money so if you spent some of it you were determined to get every ounce of value! Oh...and applauding the team of course...
Perhaps those fans should remember the last few minutes of another recent game at home to Leicester and what would have been missed by those leaving early.
i don't get it. I will never understand it. To leave 5 minutes early to make a quick getaway? What are you there for? I too always applaud whatever the outcome, but when we're losing, like against Leicester, that's exactly the time a supporter should be giving extra support to the team, not leaving because we're not winning! Infuriating!
