For those who want to relive the misery that was Saturday, here's Clive's take on things..... http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/42228/and-two-steps-back-–-report
'Junior Hoilett became a father on Friday, proving he is capable of producing some end product after all'.
That's pretty much how I saw it and have said similar ( albeit more concisely ) elsewhere on here. I'd dispute that the Konchesky penalty was an obvious one though. I thought he won the ball. One other pointer about this game that I'd like to add is that we had 3,644 fans in that stadium. From the photo ( and I'll post another link below ) is that it didn't look that many. But what MKdonalds did is stick 2,000 fans in the upper tier. The rest of us were stuck in a corner and a few were sporadically stuck to the left of the goal. The upper tier is isolated and so were the rest of our fans. This made it difficult to generate an atmosphere for the away support. We had effectively three or four area's of divided away fans that made it difficult to create some vocal support. I'm not saying that this in itself was a causation of the defeat but it didn't help. Lesser followings at LR have generated more support in the upper school end than we did at Stadium MK. Perhaps this was intentional. Maybe we should learn from this and stop giving the away support the whole school end and just the upper tier. Even better would be to give the away fans a block or two in Ellerslie Road in the corner. I do realise that this is impractical as both sets of fans would have to exit from the same area which highlights why we need a new stadium. It also highlights why the family stand can only be situated in the Lower Loft.
Great to meet you at the game '74. I'm not surprised you left before the end. Terry B wasn't happy either after I spoke to him after the final whistle. That's what following the R's does to you.
Like wise 9's, good to see you both. Re the away support placement. It's definitely a tactic as if there is any ground with the space and capability to put us where they want it's the Dons. I really disagree with it just from an enjoyment point of view. Half the reason for going to live matches is the atmosphere and it's being taken away.
