If she has legit been taking it for health reasons only and no performance enhancement benefits and it's only just been banned I have a bit of sympathy However, if you're cynical you're naturally drawn to the conclusion that she full well knew all the benefits it was giving her all along, and she's Russian and the entire country has just been banned from the Olympics As a tennis player she's a bit removed from that scene but who knows what nefarious p®actives her team have been having her take up wittingly or unwittingly
My comment wasn't directed specifically at her since I don't know the details. (I doubt it was taken innocently though). I mean in general it should be a lifetime ban. Once your body has produced muscle cells they don't die... They may shrink, but it's easier to regrow them if they already exist. If you've ever trained using illegal substances you potentially will alway have an ill-gained benefit over your rivals. A lifetime ban is therefore necessary to maintain parity. (not to mention it's a hell of a good pursuation not to cheat)
She said it was legal and taken for 10 years for illness and only made illegal in January so she was tested for 10 years and found not guilty and at first ever tournament where you could be done were done for it.. Well it kind of says to me that it wasn't some grand doping scene.
Yeah she does have to publish medical history and what she was on it for... cos it could just as easily been well you could have taken it for 6 months but why you continue for 10 years missie
It is feasible it was taken for performance enhancing properties all along and not for legit reasons. Not that it was against rules then.
true. thats why i think she can't just do a presser and cry. she's got to publish her medical history and need.
